what do you think about that, there trying to sell the game in the US and the Stanley cup Eastern Conference Finals on a Saturday afternoon was cut short to show a stupid Horse race. I'm happy I have my CBC, but at the end of the period i wanted to see what Brett Hull and Ray Ferraro had to say and the game was cut for the race what a joke.

yeah that was a bunch of BS. i really wanted to see the end of the game and i didnt have anywhere else to watch it. and they cut it for a fricken horse prerace show. why on earth would NBC be dumb enough to cut a eastern conference finals game for prerace. here in Minnesota that pissed about every single fricken person of in the whole state. theres no way u get more viewers from a horse race. most retarded thing i have ever seen.

Well I suppose that just shows the American's priorities. That would never happen here in Canada. Its quite shocking that they would cut the Eastern Finals for a horse race but then again I'm shocked by many facets of American society. Frankly I don't mind sharing the game with them and there are many good American hockey people but generally I don't care if Americans love the game or not, we Canadians will always love it - and thats good enough.

It wasn't cut in the Buffalo area, so I wasn't affected, but I could not believe that a playoff game in overtime would be cut short for the sake of pre-coverage of a horse race, no matter where it was broadcast. This is just one more in a long list of examples of how the NHL is being run into the ground. It breaks my heart.

I was kind of pissed off...it took me a couple minutes to figure out it went to Versus so I missed a little of the game. I do like horse racing but I thought it was rediculous to switch from such a good game.

The NHL is a joke. Hockey has become boring.
The fact is, NBC made the move because there are higher ratings for horse racing than hockey. Get over it.

Many Americans are furious when "foreign" sports are on their TV channels. No word as to why they don't mind watching other Canadian-invented sports such as basketball and football, or the British-inspired sport of baseball...

it is all about contracts, they must have agreed beforehand that they would cut it, and stupid bettman agreed, rather than try to find somewhere else.
