Doctors are compassionate and appreciate different kinds of rewards to actors. They do their jobs out of love, not for money. The world is a very unfair place, and many wages vary as do many jobs but thats life.

Actors especially movie actors do get paid lavishly. It is only because their job is very glamours. The money spent on making a film is huge and if you want concentration of the artist, that too the main artists, you have to pay them very high. Once the actor becomes popular and he starts believing that without him the film will not attract huge collections he start hiking his payments. So popular actors get paid well. Whereas a doctor has a salary that is set by the standards of the industry. there can be only small variations, though he saves peoples lives including the highly paid actors.

I agree with Mr Taco if the public didn't support 2nd rate movies ,T V and other similar productions then backers and sponsors would get the message. Junior doctors are not paid well but the best can rise to the top and become highly paid consultants. My sympathy is for the nurses who work so hard , do jobs that a lot of us would never consider doing and have no way of reaching a position with a high salary.

You're right when you say that doctors deserve more money than actors, however the way we get paid in a free economy has nothing to do with what's deserved, or more valuable.
Labor is a commodity that is subject to the laws of supply & demand, just like any other commodity. The more people that can do your job, the less money you will make. That's why fast food workers make barely above minimum wage, but a quarterback who can throw the ball 70 yards, makes millions of dollars. It pays (literally) to have a talent or skill that is in high demand, but few people possess.

It's a cultural thing. Differences in salaries has been an answered question for as long as I can remember. It seems that many crucial occupations don't make the money less crucial ones do. I guess one reason what the impact on our society that career is. Actors bring in a lot of money to the movie producers. Don't know if has anything to do with real economics. I think it is just an anomaly in our culture. Those that have get, I guess.

Well the vast majority of actors get paid a good deal less than Doctors and Nurses! Only the most successful actors get paid ridiculous salaries. Then again, the very best consultants and specialists get paid huge amounts too.
I suppose the answer is - that's Capitalism and the Free Market for you - apparently it's supposed to work, but it aint fair!

Same reason teachers make less than most anyone... our value systems are all messed up.

Also, doctors do make quite a bit of money, and only a select few number of actors make lots of money. Most actors have other jobs & dont get to be big famous movie stars... they go from small role, to small role & never get rich.

Doctors on the other hand usually have a lot of money in pharmaceuticals (conflict of interest, anybody?) and can make a lot of money if that's what they're after.

You're right, truly charitable & caring doctors/nurses dont get paid what they're worth.

EXAMPLE: Saw an episode of Dr. 90210 (reality show about plastic surgeons) one time... one of the doctors volunteered his time to do probono work in some remote Mexican village... and he broke down crying after turning down so many excellent cases for surgery, simply because they didn't have the proper equipment to fix these people's facial malodies.
It depends on where you practice... this guy raked in TONS of money putting in boob jobs & doing face lifts... but in order to help people in need, that actually need plastic surgery (not just want it) he had to pay for his trip down, and bring a bunch of supplies.
He basically had to PAY in order to help people.

Pay is based on the return of the product one puts out, not their contribution to society. That is what capitalism is all about.

Leonardo DiCaprio gets 20+ million for a movie, because his addition to a movie is almost guaranteed to make up for that huge pay plus some extra for the studio.

Saving the life any Joe Blo isn't worth anywhere near 20 million.

I don't think so. just act like that, while looking for an opportunity to over power him. Look for sharp object and cut the center wicket. Enough now the world is free. But gang rape is difficult to manage & I don't think there is any option to find a way for run/escape (throw dust into their eyes, or sharp objects on them or get locked in a room or lock them in a room). May be acting crazy can buy some time!!!!!

It has nothing to do with "deserve." Do you watch movies? Then you're part of the reason that actors get paid so much. Movies make millions and millions of dollars. The people who contribute most to the success of those movies get the money. If you don't want actors to get paid so much, then stop watching movies and visit your doctor more.
