all it takes to get rid of food cravings (e.g. sugar addiction) is 3 days.
the better you eat and exercise the less crap you are gona eat and want to eat - just look at labels nutrition info and see how many calories are in there and think what you will have to do to burn it off - most of the time you are gona decide its not worth it.

For me, the temptation is always there, so I allow myself a cheat day....ususally Saturday or Sunday. But the longer that I've been doing this, the less I use it and sometimes forget about it completely! You just kind of used to eating better, without even thinking about it. Just keep more fresh fruit and snacks around, and you'll find yourself reaching for them instead. And a little trick that might help....if you get bored drinking plain water, try the carbonated flavored ones. They're a nice change...plus the carbonation makes you feel fuller. As you lose the inches and weight, reward yourself with something special here and there. It will be an incentive, and you'll deserve it!

Yes, I used to eat too much junk because I could eat what I wanted and not gain weight. Unfortunately, now I can't so I have to eat right to stay thin. Changing your eating habits is hard and it is best done slowly. Eventually, your body will get used to the new healthy lifestyle and you won't crave junk food as much. If you do have cravings, you can occasionally give in, but just keep the portions very small.

I went on the Suzanne Somers diet. In two months I lost twenty pounds, but then dealing with family crisis and a death I went off the diet ate all sorts of junk and still only gained five pounds back. I am now back on the diet. I find I can substitute other foods that taste sweet instead of "sweets"
Like when I want a bowl of ice cream, I eat a bowl of fruit instead.

You are absolutely right! :)
You will experience your ups and downs. But you can always overcome bad with good. Give yourself the right to feel like that. It is not easy to break with bad habits but it is not impossible. Have a goal and stick to it, and if you fail, get up again and keep on going. It is worst to give up...you lose more.
Drinking water can help you with hunger when you know you just want to eat but not because you need to. Lets say you eat something sweet and you feel you want to keep on eating and can't stop, try eating a stick of celery it helps by cutting the cravings for sweets.
Take care and good luck! :)

Yes, the cravings will diminish. However, the taste for things will always be there. The key is to not allow yourself to have the foods AT ALL so that you don't crave them later. Sure, slip ups happen, but they reinforce your cravings.

yes, if you cut yourself off from all the junk food you crave, you will eventually stop craving them. if you occasionally treat yourself to them, you will still want them when you shouldn't. it will take a while and bunches of will power. im rooting for you!
