this morning, i woke up quite late, around 9 am or something and i was surprised not to see my 3 cats waiting for me at my bedroom door, so i searched around the house and i found them under the guestrooms' bed, having a happy meal! lol and yes! its a live bird, and all that was left was a few feathers and a leg bone, errrr lol
i observed the 3 sillies the whole day today and they seem to be fine, but just by the thought of them eating a bird still worries me. its already 2 am here, i cant get myself to sleep. is there enough reason for me to take them to vet, or i shouldnt worry at all.
the feathers i saw was black in color and quite grown, i think its a maya bird, because every morning thats the type of bird i usually see on our window. thanks for your answer.....

lol baby, they got it from the kitchen window i guess, because i leave it opened a bit just for ventillation. the 3 stooges are usually locked up here, were living on the 13th floor, so its risky for them to roam outside the flat..

I really would not worry, cats can get worms maybe, but they kill birds all the time. I should think your little darlings do it all the time they just dont always bring it home for you. they can however get the small bones stuck in theit throat.
I will say your cats must have been hungry as it is quite rare for them to eat the bird they normally just kill it for fun, as a game or to bring it back to you as a pressent (nice I know)
Hope you found this of some help.
I would say no they dont need to go to the vets but my all means give them a ring tomorrow and explain what has happened if you are still worried.
good luck

If you live in a bird flu area I would be concerned but otherwise, the little assasins will be just fine. My cats are outside cats and unfortunately, they will catch a bird or two. It is a totally natural thing for them to do and the bird flu is not effecting the common birds yet as I know of. The bones wont hurt them either.

Oh My!

Well, it looks like you've been saved from bird flu by the 3 stooges. yuk, yuk, yuk.

Seriously, All dangers have passed (hopefully) through the cats by now. Their stomach acids are designed for any wayward illness that could affect them. And, any worm or parasite from the bird is only a slim or remote problem.

Don't worry. They will spend hours looking for more midnight treats because they were rewarded this once.

The bones could be a problem and there is always the bird flu. Other than that what your cats did is perfectly natural. Mine gets birds and squirrels. It's gross, but what can I do except keep them inside all the time. You cats should be fine.

they should be fine. that is what cats live outdoors. if the had to hunt they'd be going after them. just continue to keep an eye on them in case the bird injested any kind of poison. if they show any signs of something being wrong. get them to a vet right away. the vet will pump them with vitamins.

Side effects to cat - lots of happy excitement
Side effects to bird - death
they will probably be fine, seeing as how nature intended them to eat mice, birds & such rather than dry kibble & canned ground-up byproducts.

The worst that happen is that they would choke on a bone, but they are predators like wild jungle cats at nature, so I wouldn't worry, they probably have eaten worse things you don't know about...

I might have heard you wrong, but was there a bird flying in your house? then your cats saved you, I bet they would do the same if a mouse was in your house.
