Yes dogs with seizures are very common. We had to put my grandmother's dog to sleep because of it.
But there could also be another problem, check for ticks. Vets recently found out that ticks emit a sedative so that the dog doesn't feel the inital bite. Sometimes the dog has an alergic reaction and begins to convulse and foam at the mouth. I had a dog with this problem and it was easily solved by just washing the dog and removing the ticks. When you mentioned the fact that you could shake the dog out of it, it reminded me of that. Because you are able to shake the dog out of it, I'd say that's what it is. But as always, take your dog to the vet just to be sure

Dogs, just like people can be diagnosed with epilepsy. Usually there is a treatment that you can get at a local vet which will decrease the amount of seizures, but still every once in a while they'll have one. One of my friend's dog has epilepsy, and she will begin to twitch for a while and clamp her jaw shut. Just comfort your dog and let it wait it out.
This may not be epilepsy though. My dog sometimes does the same thing and I figure that she has bad dreams just like people. Ask your vet, as it may vary between dog breeds. Hope this helps.

Yes dogs can have seizures, but you already know that! Some breeds are more succeptable to epilepsy than others & I'm afraid I'm not that knowledgeable about the Ch Pug. I do know that with a male that has seizures it will often go away after being neutered. See your vet & good luck.

Just like people dogs can sleep with their eyes open. They can also have seizures. This sounds like normal twitching as they sleep. Check with the vet to make sure. If your dog is having seizures she can take medications to control them.

I have had a dog with epilepsy, and a dog who had a stroke, both which have seizures. I also have a dog who does what yours does only not quite as bad, and seems to be in good health (had her checked by vet). I would have your dog checked to make sure what is going on. You'll feel better and so will your dog.

Your dog is probably just dreaming. Dogs can have seizures, but seizure are involuntary and rubbing or shaking a dog would not bring them out of it. If you are really concerned contact your Vet.

Dogs can have seizures for many diffrent reasons... the best thing you can do is take the dog to the vet. Most times you can control the seizures with medication.

Yes, my best friends dog is having massive seizures right now. The vet said her brain chemistry is off due to old age and diabetes. Sadly, there isn't much they can do for the dog.

The funniest element he does is he sits in a wheelbarrow and facilitates you to push him around everywhere.
