Military action is an expensive, inefficient means for motivating other countries to do anything, particularly something such as raising their standards to fight pollution. While Americans are characteristically prone to jumping for military action as the first resort, diplomatic efforts and economic sanctions tend to get much better results for the countries that use them and at a lower cost. It's just that they tend to take time, and patience has been shown to NOT be a typically American characteristic when it comes to politics.

Nah, diplomacy I'm sure would work, like it's doing with Iran and Syria right now. Or Hamas. Or really even China.
The question is, what will we do if the greenies win, and all the developed countries reduce their CO2 production but China and India never "come around." Ever time I hear we must take the lead because China and India will then "come around." Why? What would their incentive be? Because they are not rich enough to actually give a s*** about climate change. Their people want to live better. They are too poor to want to stifle their economic growth.
I guess some environmental wackos will eventually want to wage war based on climate change, because that's the only way I see China ever caring about a regular person.

You have to be kidding??? Who would be able to attack the United States, China, India, and Russia? Those 4 countries probably account for 75% of the worlds pollution.

That would seem to come under "People who live in glass houses should not cast stones." The US is one of the largest consumers of oil, the killer of ozone. One has to wonder, too, what the impact is of all those burning buildings, exploding missiles and spent nuclear shells on the environment and people.

I don't know about "justified" but it could happen. The military is very worried about global warming causing a war.
