Why come here to bash us?

They come here to bash us because they think they are cool talking bad about people on the internet. You and I know that they wouldn't say the things they say on here to any tattooed person if they were face to face with us. They love the fact that they are hiding behind a monitor and keyboard being anonymous on the internet, and they can say what they want without getting knocked out by someone else.

Taylor, you're not the kind of person that we consider anti-tattoo. What Pure Evil means is the ones that are completely against them and those with tattoos. They come here to bash us tattooed people.

I think anti-tattoo people have different reasons for being anti-tattoo. It may be that they are actually afraid to go to the shop (like you say) or even the pain, but they may also have other reasons such as:
1. They grew up in an environment where the only people who had tattoos were low class (particularly in certain countries where social classes don't "blend").
2. They think it's boring to add something to their bodies that they can't change.

You mention that anti-tattoo people come to yahoo answers to "bash you." I haven't seen what those people wrote, but you are right, people shouldn't be using this to say the things they wouldn't say in person. It's all about respect and being able to understand that we all may come from different backgrounds and therefore we have different beliefs. Closed minded people are afraid of people that are "different." And it can go either way, for example: an anti-tattoo person can be afraid of a tattoo person, just as much as a tattoo person can be afraid (or be prejudiced) of a non-tattoo person.
In case you are wondering: I have friends who have tattoos and I have dated people with tattoos, but I would not get one. Imagine if I had to wear the same pair of earrings for the rest of my life, well, I feel something similar with tattoos.

Wow- I understand if you don't want to get a tattoo... but how can you be against something that you don't know? Would your opinion change if you knew the majority of people who protect you... aka police, firefighters, paramedics and the armed forces have tattoos- not to mention all the other really good people... what would you say then? Would you still think that everyone who has a tattoo is trashy or scum.... Well I say f- off then because you don't know classy you ignorant POS.

By the way- I have 4 awesome tats and plan on getting more... oh and I'm a firefighter and emt.

They bash us as a subset of the fight or flight reaction.

The people who actually spend their time doing that are distinctly different from the people who just would rather not have a tattoo themselves. They don't understand the concept of integrating art into the self, or seeing one's body as one's ultimate method of communication. I'm not sure they're smart enough.

So instead they either run away from us, or take the verbal "fight" course, and spew as much random hatred in the general direction of tattooed people as they can.

It's really very sad when you're so terrible at coping with life and your xenophobia that your only defence mechanism to protect your biggoted and rediculous beliefs is to go around harassing other people the way a demented 7-year-old picks on a house pet.

Actually not all people who are anti-tattoo people are just afraid its just a matter of taste and in some cases religion. I have friends with tattoos but for me personally I would never get one! It has nothing to do with the pain its just not my think I dont want art on my body I would rather buy a painting or something! But I dont mind them for other people it is their body and they are free to do withit as they please!

Hmmmm... they can either blend, or contrast...
It depends on the location of the tattoo as well. The ones right above the buttcrack are divine, especially when juuuust above them, there is written "property of Master".

As far as the "non-tattooed types".... I think deep down inside, there is a wild woman waiting to get out. You can't tell me they don't get trashy behind closed doors.... I just wouldn't believe it.
And the answer is.... SOCIAL STIGMA

I doubt they're afraid to go to the shops, it's clear that they don't want any!

But I totally get your point, it's one thing thinking "no, that's not for me", but to then start judging everyone thinking otherwise is just ridiculous...

It's the same thing on the vegetarian area, with lots of meat eaters going crazy...

Some people clearly don't understand that people have differing opinions and that their own point of view isn't universal law!

Because some people just think they have the "right" to criticize anything that is not what they believe.

I don't have any tattoos but I don't like people judging others.

Because they have big egos when they are not face to face with someone. I think its the same reason that they bash Paganism, Astrology etc.... they don't like what they are completely ignorant to.

we just want to feel good about being chickenshit when it comes to getting an original one of a kind tattoo that will make us unique and stand out from the rest of these herding cows.
