Kim Crawford 2006 Marlborough Sauv Blanc. It was a top 100 Wine Spectator wine (92 Points, number 40 on the list), yet at Costco, it's $12.99 a bottle. I've seen it at Target and at the Grocery Store, too, so hopefully it won't be too hard to find.
It's citrusy and fruity but wonderfully balanced. Personally, I bought a case because it's such a high quality wine at such a low price.

As mentioned already, NZ sets the standard for modern Sauvignon Blanc with Marlbourough region leading the way.
Don't forget to include Nautilus or Spy Valley SB's. In Canada most NZ Sauvignons will run $18-24 bottle.
Something different - great inexpensive S. Blanc ( $14.00 ) from Jackson Triggs in Okanagan region, British Columbia.

Anything from the Marborough region of New Zeland
I second the Kim Crawford - and also like Nobilo -
But above these, I think you should take one called Tohu.
it is also from the Marlborough Region, but the significant difference is that the winery is owned and run by indiginous Maori people. People who came from and respect the land. Not only is it an interesting cultural aspect, the wines are wonderful. The vintage we tasted had extraordinary grapefruit and pineapple notes. Light and refreshing, and probably 13 to 15 a bottle.
It will stand up well in a tasting, but you will have the best "backstory" among all the wines.

Silverado Vineyards Miller Ranch Sauv Blanc from Napa
Isabel Estate Sauv Blanc from New Zealand
Oyster Bay Sauv Blanc from New Zealand
Merryvale Starmont Sauv Blanc from Napa
Honig Sauv Blanc from Napa
Kenwood Reserve Sauv Blanc from Sonoma
Kunde Sauv Blanc from Sonoma
I normally like New Zealand style the best, but Honig, Kunde and Silverado domestically are also great. All these are available at Bevmo for between 10 - 20.

Robert Mondavi Private Selection
Sooo yummy, it's my favorite wine. You can pick it up just about anywhere wines are sold. It's probably about 10-12 dollars a bottle.
Here's what his website says...
Winemaker's Notes
Our 2005 Sauvignon Blanc exhibits bright lemon, lime, grapefruit and Granny Smith apple aromas, with the zesty herbal notes that give the variety its distinctive personality. The wine’s ripe citrus character picks up richness over the palate, culminating in a mineral-y finish reminiscent of white wines from France’s Loire Valley. The long 2005 growing season in the cool Central Coast region gave our Sauvignon Blanc grapes plenty of time to develop concentrated varietal personality, which we enhanced with cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks and aging on the yeast lees. Enjoy this distinctive wine with appetizers, salads, cracked crab, calamari, grilled halibut and lemon chicken.

Kenwood Sauvignon Blanc is delish with sea food and has a great aroma and has and incredible flavor. Just don't have it with beef, red sauce pasta or anything spicy. I think it runs about $12-16.
Good luck!
