Yes it is. Two tips:
1) Don't overcook it, 10-20 minutes depending on the size of the pieces is plenty. If it smells, you've cooked it too long.

2) Don't drown it in butter. 1 tsp of butter is a good portion for 1 cup of cooked cabbage. Vinegar sprinkled on cooked cabbage is a flavorful and low fat/low calorie alternative.

I would think so. In eastern European countries cabbage (red cabbage also) is a staple in there diet (inexpensive food source), supplemented sometimes with small amounts of meat. They do not have the obesity problem that is ravishing the U.S.

I can think of a lot better things to eat and I've been on a diet forever. cabbage is good, but it's not a wonderfood for dieting. make it a part of your diet, but not the main food.
