Actually, there is nothing in Islam that prevents Muslims from praying anywhere, as long as the place is "tahir" or clean.
The reason they don't pray in churches is that Christians would be definitely offended.
Omar ibn Alkhattab, who was the second Caliph after the Prophet, refused to pray in a church when he was in Jerusalem not because he was not supposed to, but because he was afraid that other Muslims would imitate him and do the same, thus turning the church into a mosque. He did not want to offend the Christians and take away their church from them.

There is one hell and one heaven. There are actually 7 heavens and 7 hells but they are layers I believe. Muslims are forbidden from entering a place that has symbols in it so that's why Muslims can't enter a church. As for Christians not being allowed to enter and pray in a mosque is because it is like an insult.

The Christians is used to welcome anybody inside the church to participate in the services of the congregations.
The Muslims on the other hand specially in Arab countries consider non-Muslims as unclean and is not welcome to join them inside the mosque aside from their being suspicious of Chrsitian mocking their rituals.
A reason why Muslims can easily plant bomb inside the Christian church but it will be hard for Christian to do the same thing inside their Mosque. It needs Muslims to kill a fellow Muslims inside the Mosque.

I wouldn't feel comfortable in a mosque, and I don't think the Spirit of God likes being in places where the name of Christ is belittled.

muslims pray and worship the one and only ture allmighty Allah,
christians on the other hand worship Jesus (PBUH) who was a prophet of Allah, thus making him a son of God, which is not accepeted in Islam. This is the reason we pray a church

muslims have their own place to pray, and they wouldn't go into another "church" where christians practice false beliefs. and the same vise versa. (depending on who is thinking.)

Not the same god, not the same goal, not the same belief, not the same type of peace of mind.

One for each is more personal and symbolic
