My soon to be wife works for a corrective chiropactic care office that means they correct the body with chiropactic use and no medicine. I want to hear anyones real stories if this use of medicine worked before i take the plunge into this.

I started going after I found out that I have Degenerative Disc Disease. That was four years ago. They gave me everything for the pain and sometimes I do use it but only when I can not sleep. I started seeing mine three times a week and also doing massage and heat therapy. I have found a improvement with movement and with pain. My Chrio also told me that a good diet helps. To be completely honest I do not know if it has gotten a lot better or only little improvement but it has slowed the process down. I can get around with out pain killers all the time and I feel that I have more energy and I also noticed that I am sick hardly ever now. That is my story. Good luck and congrats on the up coming wedding.

This type of therapy has worked for me. I had an issue with the curvature of my cervical spine. With the proof of x-rays the treatment for that condition worked. I also had issues with a trigger point in my rhomboid muscle which pulled on my spine and caused pain. After a few treatments I have not had pain in over a year. that being said it does not work for everyone. I am a firm believer in holistic medicine. However, not everything works for everyone. If chiropractic doesn't work, maybe acupuncture will. From my experience, and from previously working in a chiropractors office I am a believer that it works. I have recommended it to my friends and family. If it isn't working for someone they should probably give it some time, then discontinue care...that simple!

You won't like what I have to say, but here it is: it depends. It works for some people. It does not work for others. That said, a lot of the people that it does NOT work for simply do not follow the directions given to them, and that is why it doesn't work. That said, some back problems simply won't respond to chiropractic work as well as others. The only way to find out is to try, but you might consider discussing it with your regular doctor first if you are not certain.

Depends on what kind of problem you are trying to "correct". Basically if your spine is out of alignment it can cause all kinds of problems, most obviously pain in the neck/back/shoulders. For this, chiropractic is a great treatment because it gets to the cause of the problem, rather than masking it with painkillers. Yes I've had chiropractic adjustments myself, and it was extremely helpful.
