Ignore them. That's what they're most afraid of.

If the bully is at my door I ask them to leave, shut the door and if they don't leave I call the law..
If it is someone in a public area (I.E. street preacher types) I walk way , if they follow me any distance (more than 1/2 block) I call the law, they have stopped preaching and entered the realm of verbal assault..
Learn the laws of your area and learn your rights, most religious people forget to learn these things and are very surprised when they are either arrested (yes it has happened and was extremely funny) or receive a ticket for unlawful gathering because they do not have a permit to preach on the street (carries a pretty heft fine)..
There is always something legal to do you just have to know your rights and the law...

You deal with a religious bully just as you do with any other bully. You pray. You try to stay away from them.
You pray for your own strength plus for their own good. Jesus teaches us to love our enemies. The best way to love them is to pray for them. A religious bully is probably not going to want to hear from you about religion so don't tell him/her anything just pray.
I advise you to stay away from the bully for your own sake. It's not because the bully will hurt you but that you will get angry or even hate him/her. We take the hurts in life as part of our calling in Christ but we don't have to seek any. Anger or hatred on our part, though, is a great sin. It is the sin of murder, as Jesus says.
God Bless You and Keep You.
Yours in Christ Jesus, Grace

Depending on who they are, ask for their credentials. Ask where they were educated, at which seminary. Ask if you can see their liscense.
In all reality, many people I know are extraordinarily learned in theology and Bible, and they never went to seminary, never became liscensed.
But, this might put the offensive person on the defense- see, you are now questioning THEIR credibility.

Raise your arm and say, "talk to the hand" - seriously, don't give them the time of day. It is totally non productive to try to deal with them or reason with them.

That depends.
If they are just preaching to you, that is not bullying.
You can preach right back if you want.
If they are beating you up, or forcing you to do things against your will, then contact the proper authorities, find someone bigger than you that can bully back, or learn how to bully them back yourself.

Most people that try to shove religion down your throat are not true Christians. They are using it to cover up their true ways, especially if they are constantly professing their religion to you. A true Christian will show their beliefs through their actions. Tell this moron to go away.......
