Just Having Done My Religious Studies Gcse Exam I Had A Question Saying Name Two Religions And There Views On Abortion? It Got Me Thinking What Do Actual Christians Or Other Religions Think About Abortion And Do They Agree With The Idea Of Them Or Not? Is There Anything In The Bible That Says It's Not Acceptable. Obviously Thinking They Weren't Around When The Bible Was Written So I Guess If There Was Something In The Bible Which Made Christians Decide Not To Agree With Them I Guess It Would Be Thou Shall Not Kill. No Idea On This. Any Info Would Be Great Thanks :) XxXxX

Christian (Denominationally)

Methodist-pro-choice (not all, generally goes by the pastor)
Lutheran ELCA- prochoice
Lutheran Missouri Synod- Pro-life
Presbyterian PCA- Pro-life
Presbyterian USA- Pro-choice
Baptist- Pro-life (I believe that is correct for most Baptist)
Catholic- Pro-life

I also believe that Buddhism is pro-life in that they believe in causing no harm to another.

Yes, it is the commandment not to kill along with the Psalm 139 where it states that we were wonderfully made, and "for you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb."

There are very good reasons to have abortions but then you have bad reasons. It would be wrong to outlaw them since there are people out there that should not and can not have children. I don't think it's murder I'm pro choice obviously. As long as the child is aborted in the first 2 months there is nothing wrong with it to me. It's a matter of choice. I know many women who have had abortions and they regret them later but they know they did what was best for them at that time. I'm an Atheist but the women that I know are for the most part Christian.

It's not what I think, but what God thinks about it. In the Israelites day if two men were fighting and they knocked a pregnant woman over and her baby was miscarried, the men would be killed, because it was seen as manslaughter.
(Exodus 21:22-25) And Psalms 139:16 states "Your eyes saw even the embryo of me, And in your book all its parts were down in writing, As regards the days when they were formed. And there was not yet one among them." Therefore God sees us even as an embryo, or right after conception. He considers you as a person at that time. So if that baby is aborted, it's murder plain and simple.

I am wishy washy about abortion. I am a born again Christian, BTW. I believe that abortion should not be against the law because people should have the right to choose.

However I believe abortion is murder. I would love to see no more abortions, however, making it against the law is not going to stop it - only cause more death.

Buddhism, Hinduism, Catholocism, other Christians, Jews, Taosim, Shintoism, and Various others are against it. However
many other evil religions are for it including liberal Jews who are not really Jewish, Islam (the cult), and some others.

The bible speaks of honoring and respecting life. I don't think any religion of God "agrees" with abortion.

The general consensus is that it should be avoided, but it's not definitive, because people from all walks of life have abortions.
