it won't stop you from getting pregnant, but you may not be able to tolerate the pain that the growing fetus would put on your spine. You wouldn't be able to take narcotic pain medication while pregnant either. So you have to decide, how much pain can you stand.

I am wondering if you had a fusion of the vertebrae after the discectomy. If so, everything should be stable in your lumbar area. This should have no effect on you being able to be pregnant. Although, you saying that you still have problems makes me think you mean you are still having pain. Since pregnancy can promote back pain your doctor might want you on bedrest if it is greatly increasing your pain. Pain is probably the only issue you would face. If that can be controlled during pregnancy, I'm sure you would just be treated like a normal pregnancy. Good luck!
