Evolver - creationists claim that the earth is 6,000 years old. This article says that the fossils are 27,000 years old. We atheists are accused of planting supposedly manufactured fossils in an attempt to prove evolution. You just don't get it, do you?

Be careful. Your question may give Dan Brown another pseudoconspiracy about which to write! Are there actually people dense enough to think the fossils have been planted? These are probably the same people who think global warming will make for better suntans. Ugh. How does one repair the woeful state of education in the U.S.? And, how does one confront and defeat rabid religionists who will say anything to comfort themselves even as science and the modern world roll over them and leave them behind?

In the case of people who wish to remain ignorant (creationists) I don't see why you can't accept that they choose to be ignorant. Give up and give in. I think from now on scientists should use a timeline that uses "ICE" for dates that don't fall within the Creationist's ability to believe. "ICE" meaning Ignorant Creationist Era! The formula to get these dates would have to take the real dates and then show within 5000 years where these fossils should sit. Good luck with that formula!!!

That would be me.
I misplaced some of them, and the next thing you know some evil scientist was submitting a green lighted article to a peer (read: secret conspiracy club) reviewed journal.

Did you actually read the article? For if you wanted to tweak creationists, you're not going to want to provide a species that's still with us.
You see, the only species of human present in Europe during the Upper Paleolithic - the species the article is exclusively referring to - was Homo Sapiens Sapiens.
In short - us.
Not to put too fine a point on it, but creationists are quite willing to accept the existence of Homo Sapiens Sapiens in the fossil record. I guess the YA atheists here today aren't the ones from the "Brights" club.
Edit: in fact I do get it. But an obvious point you're forgetting: not all creationists are young Earth creationists, leaving them to comfortably say concordant stuff like "God's days are a million years". Or they can simply accept the physical evidence, but dispute the dating methods. At any rate, even supposing the latter, an article about the rituals apparent in the mineralized remains of some modern humans found in Europe was never really going to be a problem for them.

Duh. This is the work of the Secret Evil Atheist Conspircay.
Uh... um... I mean... we don't do that... um... I mean... What Secret Evil Atheist Conspiracy? Coffee? Donut? Did you see the game last night?
Edit to evolver: Yes, they will accept homo sapiens sapiens... but not 27,000 year old homo sapiens sapiens. They draw the line at 6,000 years.

I'd so loove to give you my straight answer and speak my mind, but Christians have been showing me their "Godly love and forgiveness" and of course their "judge-no one" by means of reports.
All I can say is keep it up.
