If you are upgrading it you will bound to have problems. If you are getting a new PC, it should be fine.
My experience of Vista is that it is just a dressed up version of XP. There aren't many compelling reasons to get the new OS, if XP works well with your PC and does what you need, stick with it. A large number of people have gone back to XP because they didn't like Vista.
A new MS OS will be along in two years anyway.

I have Windows Vista on my Dell Laptop. I love it. It has great features and can run compatibility on programs that worked on XP or another operating system. The only thing that doesn't work very well is the voice recognition when you are typing. When you use voice recognition to open programs, it works about 90% of the time. I've never had any problems with it and it looks great. You should really consider upgrading to it. I have Windows Vista Home Premium, which is much better than Windows XP. It is an awesome operating system.

The sistem is very good, but it has change a lot of operations that they say will make it better than Windows XP, but you will have to study the system from the start to be able to work with it.
I have to install new drivers for the printer, webcam and i do not know how to do it, because I tried to do it and they do not work, also a like to use the "Yahoo Messenger" and I have not been able to do it, so I had to change to the "Windows Live Messenger",The same with "Firefox", I had to change to "Internet Explorer". I can not find the reason why this programs do not run in "Vista". Also I had problems with the "Hewlet Packard Multimedia Key Board driver".
So, That's it.

Just tried a clean install with Vista business. Failed to see two different Nvidia video cards that work fine in XP. Had to reformat and reinstall XP. Searched the internet but no solutions. I'm waiting to service release pack 1 to try again.

It's not the operating system that bothers me they just moved where everything is if someone was just learning the computer it would not be so bad but for those of us that have been using Windows for a while it sux for the first few months, but it does have a lot more interesting things that you can do with it. It just takes time to get used to.

Ive had no problems with it at all.
Ive noticed that most of the people who are having problems with it are running it with the lowest amount of recomended RAM.
