Darwin didn't dismiss evolution over the complexity of the human eye. On the contrary, he used it as an example of his proof. This is a misquotation by Creationists, who are simply lying to promote their pseudoscience.

Seems odd that they would need to lie about it, doesn't it? Would you like to see what Darwin actually said about the eye, which the Creationists ALWAYS leave out? (They actually omit the rest of the paragraph, taking his comment completely out of context)

Creationists, what is your excuse for this? How can you blatantly lie about such things? You've been called on it. So... explain yourselves please...

Sounds like a lot of guessing, Jester?... Well then... why do Creationists have to lie about it? If his theory is so flimsy, why cover it up? You people PROVE by your own actions that you are liars and con men. Eat some crow... bible boy.

Jen B, I personally never take the bible out of context. It's my favorite way of proving your god does not exist.

Only when taken in context can this be shown.

Hey! They quote the first sentence correctly! Okay, they leave out the rest.

I'm actually amazed they CAN quote a sentence from Darwin. But, usually half-quotes are only found when somebody didn't actually read the book.

It's truly silly. It's like me saying: "See, in the Bible it says 'In the beginning God created Heaven'. See!! He never created the Earth"

Sigh.

I think the original quote said in a nutshell, we won't know if Darwin is correct in his theories until a couple million years when someone may possibly prove it.

Very convincing. Thanks for the correction.

Why would taking anything out of context bug an atheist, you are so good at it with the Bible?

maximum creationists in simple terms blindly replica and paste although they discover on creationist web content. it relatively is much extra embarrassing while they quote-mine somebody like Stephen Jay Gould or Richard Dawkins! all people who thinks for a minute that biologists like this are creationists have of course on no account examine any of their books. in spite of this, if those replica-and-paste creationists truly had the skill to make the attempt to get out of the homestead and consider something, then they in all probability does not have maximum of gross misconceptions approximately biology interior the 1st place. nevertheless i think of the stupidest must be the "Darwin recanted on his death mattress!" tale. whether actual (and it is not; his sister replaced into there and called human beings out on the fake rumor), it does not exchange an element, because technological know-how is set from the scientific approach and not authoritative dogma.

Good question. I have run into this, too, and I'm not even an atheist! It is ridiculous. I have also read that Darwin dismissed evolution on his death bed, too, which isn't true. But I will say one thing in their defense. Atheists come on here all the time and misquote and cherry-pick the Bible to try to prove it is wrong. So what is the difference?

If I am wrong about God then when I die I will be dead and there is nothing else. If you are wrong then when you die you will face God.

The entire quote from Darwin reads the same way if this then if that then if if if if if

sounds more like a lot of guessing to me

Hey, no problem, dead man walking, my God created everything. EVERYTHING. I know it, you don't because you live for self, and God can only be reached by surrendering to Him.

I don't believe in atheists. Mainly because it takes more faith to be believe in nothing, than it does to see the glory of God's creation and His miracles, all around you. You are a toddler having a tantrum. If you can't see God in your own face, you are for all practical purposes, dead already. Anyone who can see beauty, hear music and see babies, and not know that evolution would not create things as superfulous as these, is just ignorant.

What's your point.

Atheists also mis-quote Darwin at time, he never said SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST, that was someone else!
