We each have control to choose and to help others choose correctly. God and Satan influence us, though.

The Bible doesn't call Satan "the Prince of this world" for nothing. He holds sway over all men to some degree because while we're alive, we are mired in our own sin. However, Satan's power pales before that of the almighty God. Although Christians can still be tempted by Satan, God has freed them from the devil's bonds and offers them the hope of eternal salvation. At Armageddon, God will crush the devil once and for all, ending his influence forever.
In other words, while the devil still holds much power on earth, in the end the victory will be God's.

Beacuse the Devil is out to tempt people do do bad things and to do other than what God wants.
Most people are tempted by the Devil, because the Devil seems more fun than God.
Very few people do what God wants, because he has too many rules and you have to follow him everyday with everything you do...
I mean, drugs can be fun, because they are something like a new world for people and that's why they do it.
Also, some men rape, because it can be a big frill to hear a woman cry and scream. They think it satifies them best.
As for killing, some people might do it for revenge and they think revenge is sweeter than turning the over cheek.
Or they might just find it fun also.
God gave people free will, they can choose to be tempted by the Devil or follow God. Sinning seems to be easier than following someone who is so good.
lol im going on a bit, but as for God doing so much for people... mabe they don't even believe in God because they have no proof or very little proof of Him actually doing things for them.
Scientists have prooved quite alot against religion, so only few believe in God these days.

There are more good people who listen to their conscience, for the most part. If there was truly more evil people, then we wouldn't exist, because evil people would destroy Gods creation.
It is true the 1Jn5:19, Satan is an authority over many evil rulers. They get to their position by how satan puts them in authority. Through false accusations, thievery or murders... Because that is the meaning of satans name. And his followers go up the ladder by devious, illegal, unethical, etc. methods. I see examples of this all the time (just in the media, etc.) Also, understand that when John wrote this, he had been witness to many Christians being tortured to death. And this is the worst evil act that satan tempts people to do. Satan was in more control back then. But when you look at Sudans rulers, you know that they are getting away with torturing & murdering innocent, hard working people today. So, satan is ruling too much today also.
It is just that when one chooses to do evil, evil is very destructive & is against the laws & so that destroys Gods creation & makes the news papers.
The good deeds done, even the exceptional ones, don't seem to get much media coverage.
God is the biggest influence, by allowing people to choose to do good or bad. God has the ultimate say. We wouldn't be here to make choices if God didn't create us.
God is in control. When Jesus raised from the dead, he has victory over death & the fear of death. That if we believe in Him & evil people murder us, then we go to heaven to be with the Lord & will raise up a new person in the future. See, murderers don't win. They just think they are winning when they kill others. Evil man can kill us, but can't kill our soul/spirit when we are born of God. We belong to God.
Jesus was lifted up for all the world to see. He was tortured beyond recognition. He did this for us. And we realize how evil some men are, to torture to death an innocent person. This is the worst evil & people are doing this today. ( I don't believe what the US is accused of, is even close to the torture that evil people do & have done all through history.)
Just remember, God is in control. All things work for the good for those who trust in Jesus.

Dear Friend,
Let us look to the scriptures for the answer:
1 John 5:19
We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.
Matthew 4: 8Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9"All this I will give you," he said, "if you will bow down and worship me."
Luke 4:5The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. 6And he said to him, "I will give you all their authority and splendor, for it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. 7So if you worship me, it will all be yours."
The Devil says to Jesus 'It has been given to me'. In Genesis God gave the earth to Adam and Eve to live in, when they believed Satan rather than God, they gave it over to Satan.
So we can see from this, that the Devil is to blame for all suffering and pain, and not God
God Bless

Afterall, the story is that Lucifer tempted Eve to sin. the two sturdy and evil had to be recent mutually for this to ensue. consistent with possibility God needed us to study a thank you to relish the sturdy issues in life by making use of permitting the presence of evil interior the worldwide. neither god nor the devil exist. bad things happen sometimes and you don't need to have some mythical demon to blame them on. the reason that there seems to be a larger population of "bad people" is because of human nature. most people only do what will benefit them. they do not care what happens to anyone else as long as it is in their best interest. that is why this world is so corrupt.

Obviously Satan has the biggest influence, because we live in a society of "it's all about ME"....which means lack of morals due to being obsessed with self-indulgence, self-centeredness, selfishness, and doing what "FEELS" good!
Following God means DYING to "self", doing what you know is right even when you don't FEEL like it - and most people just don't want to do that. The bible says many are called but few are chosen....that's because in order to be chosen, you have to give up the self-centered attitude and put God first.
GOD is still in control. What satan means for harm, God WILL use for good. (Gen 50:20) "For ALL things work to the good of those who love God, and who are called according to HIS purpose". (Romans 8:28 - caps mine)

God certainly has the stronger influence. Don't be fooled that evil prevails. It just gets more publicity. When the rapture takes place, then there will be a definite reign of evil. It is the presence of the Christian community in the world that holds evil back for now.

thats a good ? why does god let the bad things happen or do we let the bad things happen. or are god and the devil archetypes that we use to explain why people are they way they are. what i mean is our brains cant see why someone would kill someone else so it must be the devil. the devils and gods become a sort of scapegoat to take to blame off the reall culprits man
