does it make a difference at all? like does the color stay on betterr with either of those?

My beautician prefers my hair to be washed. But she told me that it doesn't really matter. I got tired of people telling me that I shouldn't wash my hair before I go and I just came out and asked her one day and she told me that alot of people think that but it's not true. So every time I go I make sure my hair is washed. I can't stand going a day without washing it anyway.

There is no difference, whether your hair is washed / unwashed the color will be the same . It wont make the color stronger or weaker vs washed /unwashed hair.

Unwashed. Because the color will penetrate your hair, but if you wash before hand it will be dry and damage it more. They even tell you on the box or in the salon.

Sorry, yet it extremely is a "hair fantasy." All you get from no longer washing your hair is grimy, greasy hair. shade sticks to generally any hair. in the experience that your hair is dark, and you're loss of existence it a easy shade, all you may do is bleach your hair first, and that they're going to try this on the salon. And, if no longer washing your hair will make the colour stick greater efficient, why might they wash it afterwards? good success!!! :-)

I wash my hair about 24 to 36 hours before getting it colored, and go easy with conditioner. No extras, like mousse or gel.
Makes the color easier to take to the hair.

The stylist at my salon (she's pretty famous, too) prefers to apply die to unwashed hair, she says it's better protected. however, if I applied styling products such as a gel or a mousse, or anything that's sticky or is coating the hair (heat protection etc.) then she washes it. Hope it helps.

It depends on the directions if your hair is wet it absorbs more color. if it's dry it'll take a little longer to color and it won't have the same Pop

UNWASHED..I have always been told that dye gets your hair better because of the oils and your hair is "dirty".

im a hair dresser and i think it takes better when the hair is dry after then you warsh it.
