Perhaps you should not be so quick to judge her. What is the gauge for promiscuity, and who determines that? I would guess it was people who have not even been intimate with her. You are basing your opinions on hearsay and I think you are a little too concerned with what others may think of you.
Be your own person. Protect yourself. If you like the girl and have a good time with her why not continue to hang out? No one says she has to be your girlfriend.

I see that as very backwards. You are friends and you think she is a great person. That would indicate you have feelings for her. Love comes in all forms. When you were with her was it just empty sex, or did you enjoy it and feel the friendship you have with her during the action? If it was empty, then stop having sex, not the friendship. If you did in fact feel friendship, then what you did is express your friendship in a physical way. There is nothing worng with that. If you don't want a romantic relationship, so mote it be. However there is no reason to not "be with her" because of her reputation. First, is it justified? Do you personally know she is permiscuouse? If you are friends, has she told you she has "been with a lot of guys", or is just what you have heard around campus? Sounds to me like you ahve a friendship in the best way. One that is true and not effected by physically expressing it. I would recomend keeping the friendship, whether or not you continue the physical expression of it.

Tough situation! Its very hard to deal with people talking like that about a girl you like. But you gotta do what you want and not listen to what others are saying. Truth is alot of girls are promiscuous, they just hide it better.

So because this person has a "reputation" you would toss her to the side? Why do you care what others think if you like her? Maybe if you two dated she would be "promiscuous".

Well you're a double standard having dog IMO... it was OK for you to "do the nasty" with her, but you wanna dump her now, because of the others she has done it with, even though she's cool? You should take her for how she is, if you like her, give things a chance. Don't impose a STANDARD on her that YOU don't even have... that's lunacy.

You are being foolish to give in to what other people think. This is going to set the tone for the rest of your life so wake up right now and smell the coffee. People gossip and people lie. So when it comes to what other people say about her you can be rest assured the majority of them are probably jealous because she may be popular. So they spread rumours about her to get back at her indirectly.
If you like her so much you should continue to date her and learn to ignore what other people say. Never allow what other say to run your life. This is where you must learn to be an adult about dating and relationships.

That's hypocritical. You don't want to be with her because she's promiscuous, but you had no problem being promiscuous with her. Aren't you promiscuous, too?

i would let her know about the rumors and ask her if she can bring it down a few notches, Maybe she thinks men are only interested in her when she is having sex with them. I wonder why she might think that??? Best case scenario you have a new gooood friend. worst case scenario you might not be with her any more but maybe you have brought to life an issue she needs to take a look at.

It is really too bad you based your decision on what "others" say instead of what you feel.
After all, in the same light-were you not promiscuous with her?
