None, because if you elude them, by definition you haven't been caught

It's sad when you hear comments like "nothing is illegal until you get caught!"

What's even sadder is when people run from the police and have a total lack of concern for anybody's safety and wind up hurting or killing an innocent person!

But to answer your question directly...in my jurisdiction...

Fleeing or attempting to elude police officer.
(a) Any driver of a motor vehicle who willfully fails or refuses to bring his vehicle to a stop, or who otherwise flees or attempts to elude a pursuing police vehicle, when given a visual or audible signal to bring the vehicle to a stop, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. The signal given by the police officer may be by hand, voice, emergency light or siren.

(b) Every person convicted of fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer shall be punished by imprisonment for not less than 30 days nor more than six months or by a fine of not less than $100.00 nor more than $500.00, or by both such fine and imprisonment.

Best wishes.

Well if you were using a vehicle you get more fines and possible jail time. Plus you get points added on your license for eluding police as well as the original offense. If you were on foot you probably get more fines and possible jail time.

Evading arrest or detention varies from state to state. In Texas it also varies on whether you were in a car or on foot. If you exceeded the speed limit, or broke other traffic safety laws; it depends on whether or not you caused any damage to public or private property and the list goes on and on and on.

Typically it is a 3 degree felony punishable up to 5 years in prison.

It depends. In my jurisdiction it is a second degree crime and can carry a jail sentence of 5 to 10 years. 2/3 of which is mandatory to be served

Nothing is illegal unless you get caught. Unless of course there is a warrant out for your arrest. In which case, I would contact a lawyer immediately and have him deal with the police for you. If you were going to get pulled over for a traffic ticket or something and got away...which I do not recommend attempting to do...and the cops catch up with you later, just say that you did not see them. It worked for me...didn't even get a ticket.
