My daughter has been potty training for a couple of weeks and I'm not sure whether to continue or wait until later. She's 2 1/2. She does well most of the time with me taking her to the bathroom every 30 minutes or so, but if I don't take her to the bathroom she'll use her pull-ups or panties. She doesn't initiate trips to the bathroom. I don't want to take her every 30 minutes for the rest of her life. What should I do?

Keep doing what you are doing but add a twist instead of every 30 min taking her try to ask her every 10-15 min and tell her what we dont do in our panties or pullup and she'll get it trust me ive been potty training my boy for bout a year and he just got the hang of it about a month ago. We're a success hes strictly in underwear.

Sweetie, your daughter is not potty trained, you are potty trained.

She doesn't know that potty from Adam. My daughter is the SAME age and does the same thing. I'm just waiting til she is a little older. I promise she won't go to kindergarten with a diaper on. Just ease up and enjoy the summer! Don't sweat it.

You're a good mom!

Most girls start potty training at 2 1/2, especially if she's in day care or head start. Don't stop. Potty train her through out the day and put her on her pull-up at night. Just take her to the bathroom once a hour and get her some designer panties like Cinderella or Dora and tell her not to pee-pee on her friend Dora. Take her to the bathroom whenever you go. Or if she have older sisters or nieces let her go in just so that she would see that she would have to become a big girl.

You can't be pushing her to go to the bathroom. It is good that you are taking her every 30 minutes and your saying she does well as long as you take her that frequent and other then that she is using her underwear or pullups. Maybe she isn't ready right at this present time. Not all children are ready to potty train a the age of 2. I have a nephew that's 3 and he won't poop on the toilet. Stop pushing her and let her do it on her own or she will regress and then your back to doing it all over again!

This is a question that everyone has a different opinion on, like my MIL thinks my son should already be potty trained and he is 2 1/2 as well. He is some what intresed but like in your case I have to do most of the work. I have a friend who did the 30 min for 5 months with her child and was pulling her hair out, she couldn't go any where, ect. She finally stopped out of exaustion and 2 days after he turned 3 he did it on his own. She tells me everytime I say well so and so says he should be trained she says Amanda if you want to drive your self nuts then have at it but with my second I am just going to let her do it on her own. It is a natural process like walking, you can't make them walk before they are ready.

I hear you! My daughter has been potty training for a long time. But she is finally getting it. She just turned 3 last week. Anyway, you are doing everything right, and even though it seems like you will be doing this forever, you won't be. LOL. She will get it eventually, you just have to be patient and consistent. Also, try some books about her favorite characters going potty. That worked well for my daughter, b/c I would say things like "tell mommy when you have to go, like Grover told his mommy in the story". And starting a sticker chart worked well for us too. Good luck, and hang in there!!

You have got to make it fascinating! Give her pom poms which can be just for whilst she pees within the pot! You each do a victory dance whilst she does use the pot. She is historic adequate to have an understanding of so preserve it up! Don't provide a snack for a present or a present on the grounds that that simply begins dangerous conduct for the long run! The pom pom dance can develope right into a larger deal whilst she is going all day with out wetting her pants! Dance across the residence. Get dad into the dance whilst he comes house! If she has an coincidence inform her that she is going to do it subsequent time.NEVER get onto her or yell on the grounds that as a way to harm her and can gradual down the approach! But no dance for rainy panties! The pom poms are just for the potty dance or parade, whichever you decide on. When she poops in it you would upload a hat or whistle to the parade/dance and she is going to relatively check out difficult to make use of the potty! She will even check out proper in a while and take a look at to squeeze out a drop or 2. If she does, perform a little dance. I proficient my boys with a espresso can! They love the sound it makes after which I allow them to pour it into the commode and boy is that a laugh for a boy! I took the can with lid within the automobile additionally. When we bought house they could pour the pee into the commode! Hope your coaching is going smoother and all of it works out first-class!

Just continue with her potty train. It can take more than 2 weeks. You are doing well for taking her to the bathroom for every 30minutes.
Stop putting on pull ups. Put on panties for her, if she gets wet, you need to demonstrate to her again where pees and poops suppose to go.

keep going and only use panties. potty training takes months. use pull ups when out or when shes in bed to sleep to save the sheets. it took a full 18 months to train my son. keep at it your doing great. she will catch on soon and be doing in on her own. most kids wont start going on their own until 3 and a half to 4 years old.

nope stay persistent, and reward her with like a sticker or something when she does use the potty... my niece was a terror to potty train but a sticker somehow made the whole process easier and dont quit, it'll be harder to restart later then to just get it over with now
