First of all, you're showing your age. Second, when I need some inspiration or re-charging of the batteries in the struggle against the forces of ignorance, I turn to various sources. The ones that come immediately to mind are the prolific thinkers like Paul Kurtz, Victor Stenger, Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris - there's a whole bunch more. Who needs a "leader" when we have all those brilliant folks?
OK, OK, I will admit I could have followed Annette Funicello over a cliff when I was a pre-teen.

Atheists generally are not club people and do not feel the need to be led. However, if I did want to follow someone, it certainly would not be an imaginary humanity-hating sadist who humiliated, tortured, and killed his own child.
