im a 18 year old girl and lately ive been getting really strong pains in my chest near my heart and on my ribs. my heart has started beating fast since this happened as if ive been running all day and it doesnt slow down at all, you can even see it beating underneath my clothes! last night i was getting it on my wrist and elbow like a twitch but it was my pulse speading up. its really painful i just dont know what could be causing it, it makes me dizzy sometimes and almost like im about to have a fit? could this be caused by anxiety and social phobias? or could it have anything to do with chronic PID which has caused a lot of painful problems in my body since i found out i had it last year? im just really confused, planning on going to the drs next week but wondered if anyone had any idea. thanks

At your age, I would first guess an anxiety disorder, but it is vitally important that you have your chest pain evaluated by a doctor, people are having heart problems younger and younger these days.

This is a list health issues that can be brought on by hormone imbalance

http://www.ylcf.org/hormone-imbalance/06.htm

Stress --> Oestrogen Dominance --> “Health Issue”

In Miram Brazel's list anxiousness and dizziness both feature.
As a preliminary do the on line hormone tests at www.hormoneprofile.com or www.johnleemd.com

If as I suspect they suggest you obtain hormones please have a saliva test done see www.npis.info or www.salivatest.com. A saliva test will check out active hormone levels something that blood tests do not no matter how many times they are done.:-)

There is a list of doctors at www.npis.info who are aware of the benefits of natural progesterone they may be more helpful than your GP. You will have to educate your GP :-)

Natural progesterone means natural to humans i.e. identical to that produced by the human body.

Any progesterone you buy must be natural progesterone USP. USP means United States Pharmacopoeia. If you educate your GP or seek the assistance of a doctor from ww.npis.info it may be BP British Pharmacopoeia. Wild Yam is just that the body will not convert it to progesterone

Do not take fake progesterone/progestins manufactured by the drug companies they will be of NO benefit.

"estriol is the estrogen most beneficial in vaginal an cervical tissues, the sites that act as the first line of defense against infection" John R Lee

If a hormone is suggested by the saliva test please take the dose suggested for you. Size 10 shoes are not twice as good if you have size 5 feet.

Anything to do with health related problems should be referred to your doctor. Asking questions on a site like this might make you even more worried because you will get all sorts of answers which could be even worse than using NHS Direct who are supposed to know what they're talking about. But then, how can anyone, expert or not, really make an accurate diagnosis without seeing you!

It sounds like an anxiety attack or panic attack, and very unpleasant.

To help reduce the anxiety, eat oats, and drink teas made from chamomile, lemonbalm, lavender or passionflower.

Rescue Remedy can help, but won't be enough on its own.

Try taking ten deep breaths and consciously relaxing your body every couple of hours. It takes quite a lot of effort when you are feeling anxious.

Sometimes exercise can help some people who are anxious - especially walking in a pleasant natural environment - by the water or in the woods.

I hope this gives some ideas on how to help yourself, and am pleased you are having it properly checked soon. I wish you all the best.

I wouldn't wait until next week. You need to find out know. If you are in the UK call NHS direct and ask their advice. They will probably tell you to go to the hospital right away.
I hope everything works out for you, and it is not a serious as it sounds.
Good luck.
