It had no substance. We didn't have one -- almost 18 years married and still hoping....

Our honeymoon was awesome! We went to Maui. Did lots of snorkeling, hiking and shopping. We did boating trips, a submarine, luau, and a helicopter! Oh and lots of lounging at the beach!
I would suggest waiting a few days before leaving for the honeymoon. I always heard people say they were too tired because they left the same night. The night of the wedding, we just got a really nice room. Then we waited a week before we left for the real honeymoon! I'm glad we did, it took me about 3 days to recover after 1 year of planning a wedding!

LOL...my honeymoon was horrible. The air conditioning was broken in our room. So here we were in the middle of the Caribbean, with no air conditioning on our honeymoon and I was like....don't even think of touching me...it's just to hot. By the way I do not recommend going on a Windjammer Cruise for your honeymoon.

Too busy. We took a cruise (which we'd done several times before) but this one was out of Puerto Rico and we had an island each day. I felt like I had no time to relax.
I was so stressed before the wedding. Got to the hotel about 1am. Got to the airport about 7am. Flew and boarded the ship that day. Then the ship was docking at the next island at 7am. So we didn't want to miss the whole island so we woke up and toured each day.
We didn't get to relax. I tell people now to make sure they pick an itinerary that gives them a day or 2 full days of no plans--no tours, no schedule. Just sleep as long as you want. Relaxation.

Great! We drove up to Vancouver, spent a couple days there poking around, spent a night and a day on Victoria Island, and drove back home. We took our time, stopped wherever we felt like it, and had a bit of an adventure. We only planned the biggest stop, so we had a hotel room waiting for us when we got to Vancouver, but along the way we just picked hotels and B&Bs fairly randomly.
It's not for everyone, but it was wonderful for us!

A relaxing vacation at an all inclusive in Aruba. Thought my wife would make us find another hotel when she saw the iguanas. She later told me the thought crossed her mind. Water, sun, a few drinks. Beautiful sunsets.
We both hate long flights, so this was perfect.
Very peaceful and relaxing, opposite of the days planning the wedding.

I loved mine! We went to a cabin on the top of a mountain near Gatlinburg, TN. It actually snowed while we were there, in OCTOBER! Which is awesome for us because in Southern Louisiana we never see snow! We went to Dollywood, to several of the shows at night, we rode the ski lifts to see the mountains! Our cabin had a game room in the loft upstairs and we had fun challenging each other to games of pool or fooseball, etc! There was a hot tub on our back deck of the cabin, and it was sooo cold outside, it was so awesome to sit and sip wine with all the steam from the hot water! I had an awesome time!
Let me add, my husband doesn't fly or get on cruise ships, so our sleection was somewhat limited! But we had a blast with the trip we took! I wish we were headed back there now!

Six months later... when we could truly relax and plan it. We spent a week in Texas - history, relaxation, museums, good restaurants and nightlife, and sun all in one location. And, all the thank you notes had been sent out months ago, so we did not have that hanging over our heads.
If I had to plan a vacation on top of a wedding, I think I might have decapitated someone.

on your wedding ceremony night you would be too drained to do something. in simple terms relax, communicate relating to the day and the consummating will take place while it occurs. As for something of the honeymoon, I had a remarkable time on the two one in each of them. various hanky panky and various exciting and rest too. it relatively is a nicely deserved trip after the stress of the marriage. relish it and do although you adult adult males like. it relatively is in simple terms about the two one in each of you.
