Just explain to her that her being your 'x" means that you are ready to move on. If she's a good person she will understand. Don't feel like you have to baby-sit her. She's a Big girl.

Try not to be jerkish about it but instead tell the truth with a lot of suger added. That way, u can still be friends....Try something like,"I understand we had something special but now that we broke up,I was hoping we could keep that same connection but turn it into a strong friendship. I want to move on. It's what's best for both of s." Simple, she should understand that.
