Grammar is the study of rules governing the use of language.

Not sure what 'grammer' is.

There's more to grammar than making sentences (questions are sentences, even if they're one word long). If you substitute the modern word "structure" for the older word "grammar," you'll be able to see this more clearly.

Picture a building. By saying that grammar is the study of how to make sentences, you're saying that construction is the study of how to put together bricks and mortar. There's more to building than that. Think of how many materials and tools it takes to construct (think "structure") a building. Another word for building is the noun, "structure." Here are some examples of structure in a second language that don't happen in English

1) adjectives agree with the nouns they modify
2) adjectives generally FOLLOW nouns
3) verbs have different endings for the word "you" depending upon the person you're speaking with

These are just a few examples out of many. So, the study of grammar really is acquiring the ability to recognize linguistic differences, obtain the tools to construct a sentence, and use those tools.

a question is a sentence, anyway the study of grammar is about learning the basic logic behind the language. If you know the grammar it makes it easier to learn the language.
