Wow so my truck stalled out one night.. it cranked back up, but the engine was very shaky and jerky. The RPMs were revving by itself, and the gears were jerking. Well I had it towed to a Dodge dealership... 3 WEEKS AGO..
Week 1- They said it was the spark plug wires, would get some new ones, and it'll be ready
Week 2- Nope, this week it's the camshaft thats locked up, and it's running on 3 cylinders. They sent an oil sample to the factory, and would let me know a day later. Didn't hear anything!
Week 3- I called today.. and the lady said the guy was pulling down the left valve covers.
WTF is going on?? What do I do? Its been 3 weeks

One thing you need to understand is sometimes a cars computer will not just flat out say what is wrong. also, a mechanic is human too, so he has to think. it seems they are just using the process of elimination to find the problem, maybe they have yet to run into this problem. i have seen it many times when a car, especially a new car, has a problem and not one person in the country knows what happened. even the engineers dont know. i would say not to piss off the shop because they will just take even longer. i know that you are pissed, but maybe you could ask for a rental or loaner car since it is taking so long. but just remember that the people at the dealer dont know everything right away, sometimes it takes long hard work to get to the problem, and just think, the mechanic has already put well over 40 hours of labor into trying to diagnose and fix your car, and im sure they will not charge you that much. maybe 1/8 of that.

Without knowing the year/ make/ model of the truck it`s hard for us to guess anything other than the garage has no clue as to what is wrong. Maybe you took a Ford to a Dodge dealer. I would talk to the service manager and remedy the situation asap. ask to have ALL the old parts returned to you. It was something you have to sign off on when you ok the repairs. A verbal ok on the phone does not allow them to go wild on replacing parts.All else fails contact chrysler customer service

Sounds like they were backed up on work and thought yours would be easy to fix and then discovered that it was more complicated than just plugs & wires. Maybe some of their mechanics are on vacation right now and they are really backed up. Give them the benefit of the doubt and just assume that the mechanics are on vacation and the ones left are doing their best to keep up with the workload, but remember, one person can only do so much. They may have had to wait for parts too.
Best bet, be patient for a while longer and don't get nasty with them. The harder the customer is to please the worse the work will be rather than the better. They will throw the car together just to get you off their backs -- fixed or not.

Call Dodge customer service, you are getting dicked around. If a camshaft locked up then the motor wouldn't run.

Dude, You took it to the wrong place and now they are taking you. Go to the the dealership and ask them whats going on. And if you don't give a good answer, take the truck to another dealer-- period

The dealer sounds like he dos'nt know what is wrong with your truck. If he hasn't given you a written estaimate of what is wrong and what it will cost to fix it, I would consider takeing is somewhere else, then contact the BBB and the Dept. of Motor Vecheles

you need to go to the dealer and have a long freindly talk with service writer or shop foreman about your truck and the time frame for repair.
