the picture from plama is great, but if u want to get a high resolution like 1080p it cost a ton of money, and the tv only lasts 4 10 or so years b4 the light burns out. i got a 1080p sharp 50' casue it was a great picture, and price around $2500. a 1080p plama would cost twice as much. i want to get an oled tv wen they come out they are paper thin and the picture is amazing.

MY favorite picture is plasma. They are able to acheive a true black color and look brilliant. Unfortunantly they dont have the expected life span of an LCD. And have some restrictions. As in what angle they're mounted at (depending on the manufacturer) and what temperature the house is kept at. If it gets very how where you live and you dont run the air during the day or on vacation it can ruin the screen.

My favorite for longevity is LCD. DLP is essentially LCD with a special mirror set. These TV's cannot produce a true black, only a dark grey. Most poeple wont notice until you tell them this, but if you watch it at night in a dark room you'll notice right away.

There are also LCoS tv's which are LCD's that can get closer to true black than other LCDs.
