Are you a US citizen leaving from the US to travel to Puerto Rico? The passport requirement does not apply to U.S. citizens traveling to or returning directly from a U.S. territory. U.S. citizens returning directly from a U.S. territory are not considered to have left the United States and do not need to present a passport. U.S. territories include the following: Guam, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Swains Island, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.

If You're going to Puerto Rico from the US ..You don't need a Passport.

To expedite the Passport Process..You will have to pay...around $60.00

But To visit Puerto Rico from any other State..You don't need it..

You won't need one if you are a US citizen- just bring a photo ID and maybe your birth cert. If you still want a passport, fast, there is an expedited service that will process your application in 48 hours or so, but it costs almost 150.00 more (in addition to the regular app fees/charges).

You have to get a passport picture then go to the Post office and fill out the passport application. Unfortunately it takes like 4 weeks sometimes. I believe theres a website that you can do an online application that is faster. Ask the post office they should be able to tell you for certain. Check this website also http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html

if you go to your county courthouse or a postoffice that handles passports you can get expedited service -

on the other hand - check to see if you really need one for Puerto Rico - its a US territory and it may not be required
