I like it.
Human reason is the spark of the divine within us. It is our capacity to know the truth of things.
One thing that make us human is our ability to think our way through to convictions (or strong beliefs). So reason and faith cannot be in conflict.
True faith
+ Is reasonable faith
+ Makes sense
+ Can be proposed as reasonable to others
With love in Christ.

That is so very reminiscent of Einstein's famous quote about the relationship of science and religion. Faith without reason leads us to a narrow view of the world - "lame" as Einstein says, because we close ourself off to the possibilities and the doors that reason opens for us.
On the other hand, reason without faith leaves us without any context within which to examine what we deduct; we are cutting ourselves off from one of our faculties. Knowing why the sky is blue is blindess if you cannot allow yourself to be impressed by the clear blue sky!

Faith and reason are needed to be able for us to know the truth. It is analogous to two wings for it to fly and reach where it wanted to be. Without one wing, the other wing is useless. They go hand-in-hand.
What is faith without reason? or reason without faith? It is like veneration without understanding.
It was a nice quote from the Pope.

Interesting...coming from the Pope.
I would have expected him to leave out the reason part, but I also believe that the truth of each of us comes from our faith and judgement.

As usual he shows great wisdom. Simplistic blind faith is sufficient for eternal life; but the more we know and understand the truths of the faith, the more we actually study the faith, its origins and history, the deeper our faith becomes.

Two wings should remind him of the Holy Spirit. That will raise a person to fly.

Faith and reason have nothing to do with each other but because one of the top scamming parasites on the planet said it, some here may think it was profound.
It wasn't.
It was illogical.
It was stupid.

It's a thoughtful, intelligent quote, if accurate. It's like in the 1985 movie "Creator", where Peter O'Toole's character states, "...It is said that when science finally peers over the crest of the mountain, it will find that religion has been sitting there all along."

Faith has nothing to do with truth.
Faith is a belief which has no connection with reality and is therefore self-defeating, since we could equally well have faith in both the existence *and* non-existence of a thing, with absolutely no way of knowing which was true. What's the use in that? How can faith in a thing be evidence of the very thing you have faith in? If that were so then we could wish anything at all into existence just by believing in it sincerely enough, and that is clearly nonsense.
