Stupid.

The whole reason for that crap was to provide an "approved" alternative to popular culture to woo young adults back into the flock.

I wholeheartedly disagree. That's really sad to me that a pastor would make such a statement." Christian" is the key word here. How in the word does anything Christian lead to Satan worship? Have you ever heard any Newsboys, Audio Adrenilin or Kutless ETC? Have you ever been to a Christian rock concert and seen a sea of youth raising their arms in praise to God?You also have to remember there was a time when the only songs allowed in church were Psalms. Then John and Charles Wessley began writing hymns and they began spreading throughout in Sunday schools every where. As the youth that grew up with the hymns wanted to bring them into the worship services, there was a lot of resistance.I'm sure no one today would think anything wrong with hymns today. Some folks just see all change as evil. Again, I wholeheartedly disagree!! God bless!!

If that is the case, my whole church (2,500) is going to hell. Seriously, God wants us to worship him in many different ways. Your pastor probably is old fashioned and likes the traditional - some people don't want to progress. The rock type music is what is bringing young people back into the church and that is a good thing. So, I don't agree that christian rock is an avenue toward satan worship. I think that is one of the MOST rediculous things I have EVER heard. Don't believe it because it's not true.

I disagree. I am a christian and I love christian rock. I don't know why some people have it in there heads that if the music is Southern Gospel or old hymns that its bad. I get in more worship mode for Christ with Christian rock than I ever did with the other types of music.

I disagree. I love christian rock. Its upbeat and it gets my youth group in the mood for drama or a lesson. In my opinion there is nothing wrong with it. It speaks of God and christianity how is this going towards worshipping Satan?

Music is not inherintly good or evil, as music is just variations of sound wave paterns. Lyrics are a different story, however. I disagree with your pastor, but I understand that there are "Christian" bands out there that have other songs that would be blatantly un-Christ-like.

More stupid bigotry and now it's christian against christian - wasn't God about love?
Edit: It's christians who are making rock music so there's nothing satanic in that, surely the faithful should be pleased that people are good not making a fuss over music

Musical styles will always bring up controversy in a church, esp, if it's R&R.
What may be the best way to understand this is to consider this:
What purpose, is it using a way that is in the world to reach those in the world in order to save them from the world?
Sounds alittle fishy. The church should not stoop to using the methods of the world to reach people.

Can it lead to Satan worship? Good question, and not one to be dismissed off-handedly.

Christians are the avenue toward Satan worship.
And Satananism is one facet of Christianity. Satananists give just as much power to the devil than all other christians do. It's something they have in common. If it weren't for christianity there'd be no Satan and no one to give Satan power.
In order to exist at all, one must have believers. In order to have any power at all, one must be given power.
To me, Satan only belongs in the hearts and minds of Christians. Which still makes it a scarey thing. Instead of taking responsibility for their actions, Christians can blame Satan. Instead of enjoying music for the beautiful thing it is, people who live in fear of the demons in their own heads try to control those who are willing to believe in pastors who give too much power to Satan.
To have faith that God will protect you, will enable you to know the truth, is what your pastor should be telling you. Fearing Satan means that you do not believe God can keep your spirit safe. Fear is the absence of Love and the opposite of Faith.
Fear nothing.

I agree.I know that there are those that feel its a way to reach those who normally couldn't be reached, but God has a standard that we as His people should not compromise. We are to come out from the world and be separate from it.Not follow it or make provisions for the flesh.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE: Those who are in disagreement with your Pastor,95% of them are not even Christians.Read their blogs and you will find this out for yourself. And then read 2 Timothy 4:1-4.Watch and be prayerful.

I love my praise and woship cds, but I hate rock even if it is so called chrisitan. Infact I do agree with you pastor. I heard some tonight in a christian book store and it reminded me of ACDC and KISS and the like. I HATE the music and they call it christian? I do not think so. There will be no music in Heaven sounding like that trust me on that.
