It seems that I always see Christians spreading hate wherever they go instead of spreading love, like Jesus told us to do. Brothers and sisters, why? Just today I saw a Christian make call someone Satan. I see them making fun of George Bush, terrorists, abortionists, and everyone who doesn't believe like them. Have we just forgotten that Jesus said that the second greatest commandment was to love our neighbor as ourself? I mourn the state of the Church today.....

Right on!
That is the #1 rule, I believe, and so many of my past fellow churchmembers and even my family has overlooked it or thrown it out all together.
What is going on, people? Jesus didn't say let the children come to me, but keep the gay ones & the different colored ones away. He also didn't say love your neighbor, unless he is a muslim or an atheist.
I think we have a new branch of Christianity on our hands - it's called Hypocrisy.

I've always felt like this. When trying really hard to be accepted into the christian church for support, community, belonging, when I was going through some hard times, I only found judgment, criticism, and fellow christians were warning me about this person and that person, saying that they weren't "true" christians. In some communities, especially the bible belt, where I lived for several years, I saw more hate and judgment than ever from christians who were all so incredibly prideful and selfish.
I hold dear my own relationship with god and I feel accepted and loved by the holy power and feel that grace has been given to me. I don't tell anyone I am a christian and I don't speak of my beliefs or preach, because what I have is so incredibly personal and special beyond words I think.
But one thing I do believe is that when the bible, forgive me for not knowing it so well these days, reads of the evil ones who go around posing as good folks, are Christians. I think that the evil that they live and breathe and spread is incredibly frightening and I'm grateful that I have been given the ability to see it, so that I never become victim of it again.

George Bush claims to be a Christian. He seems to have forgotten that commandment, too.

Please be more careful about your generalizations. I am Christian. I do not spread hate. I do not call names. And I speak out against the xenophobia of Christians and any one else who claims to have faith in a higher power.

When you say "always see Christians spreading hate" you include me. I don't find that very loving either. I hve had a 37 year career in lay ministry. Without knowing what I do, it is not fair to lump me in with the people you are judging.

I will not apologize for being critical of George W Bush. I pray for him at least weekly, and have nothing personal against him.

But great evil has been done by the Executive branch of the US against Iraqis, enabling a kind of anarchy there that has taken hundreds of thousands of lives. A Christian afraid to call evil when evil happens is not a Christian labouring in the vineyard.

He needs to repent; and his fellow Christians need to call him on it.

Christians make mistakes like everyone else. If they are not living the life under God's will, then they will succomb to the sins of the world. It is really hard to live your life just as God intends us to do, many of us do not even realize when they are not living right. The true Christians are loving and accepting of everyone, just as Jesus did. True Christians live their life according to Gods plan not their own. You can not live a full Christian life without trying to follow His will for your life. Christians who make fun of others or say or do really ugly things, are either caught up in the sins of the world, and will return to the Lord, or they have turned their back on the Lord.
Any Christian you see that is not living according to God's will, need to be confronted. You should ask them would Jesus do that, and if not then they have let satin come in and take over. Satin loves to play with Christians because he knows he can never have a Christian soul. So dont let hatred into your heart, try to love everyone. I try I even love my dad who has abused me my whole life, it is hard but I love him, through God's love. If I can do it so can you. Just ask the Lord to guide you and open your eyes, ears, and heart.

You're absolutely right.... Christians should be walking in love, but many seem to think they have the authority to judge. Why?

Look at 2 Timothy 1:5 "But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them."

I agree with you. Heaven knows I don't always have the right mindset when opening my mouth but you are correct. Jesus said love they neighbor as theyself and He didn't mean certain ones He meant everyone. People tend to forget that in their walk with Christ. But people also tend to forget that Christians are human beings as well who are fallible and make mistakes.

Did you know Jesus said That he did not bring peace, but a division, Yet when Jesus told his Apotles, Peace I leave with you, Did Jesus compromise the Truth, No, He stuck with his calling, Therefore so do The True Christians, we are to stand fast in what God has called us unto. & to many people as yourself think we are hating people & trying to start an argument.

Christians get moody too. We are all at different levels of learning ...and patience. Sometimes people are jerks on both sides. It's all supposed to happen though. Christians and the cross will be haters and non-Christians will be the good guys. At least we'll know the truth.

isnt passing judgement on someone as bad// Jesus was meek but not weak He lost His temper in the temple turning over the money changers He didnt bring us into this world to be ridiculed and we set idly by with no response not defending our beliefs while they call us every name they can think of it would be wonderful if we could live together in peace but i dont see that anytime soon
