What all is in the immigration bill? That all illegal immigrants would be granted citizenship and what else? And if they did this how would they get their papers? Come foward and admit to being illegally in the country? What about new immigrants after if this gets passed? And if it does get passed, how long would it take for it to be put into effect?

you can find the entire bill here :: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/thomas
I read through some of it and it answers in detail ( in government jargon, but still in detail) all these questions. If they took out the amnesty thing it'd be great - more border control, english as the national language. We don't owe illegal immigrants anything and its beyond my scope of thinking that we are rewarding unlawful activity. I dont view myself as republican or democrat - both parties have their share of crappy ideas - so Im not siding with anyone.
If the bill is passed, which wont happen without much bullying from Bush, then it would be in effect immediatly. However with all the paper work and people involved we wouldnt see the effects for some time.

This bill is RIDICULOUS!! Why are we granting completely illegal aliens legal status at the snap of a finger! This bill is totally WRONG and will do nothing but encourage more illegals to cross the border to gain legal status. I'm a student and I have many immigrant friends, and i think the bill is TOTALLY UNFAIR to those immigrants who did the work and waited the numerous years to gain their American citizenship. If this bill passes, I don't know what will happen, but it can lead to only one logical outcome...chaos

The extremists on the latino side cost other immigrants and fast track citizenship. Burning our flag and chanting about Mexico is not anyway to have a chance of getting any bill passed.

Do not worry, the bill will not pass! The American people will not accept a free pass for this people, period. What the people want is the illegals to be Arrested and Deported. That is what the American people want , but our two-faced lying *** government wants to sell us out!

It is an amnesty plain and simple. What thinking person believes that people who have broken multiple laws will suddenly obey some new law, esp. if it involves paying a fine?
Call your Senators and demand a secure border.

We did not need reform. We needed to enforce the bill that we already have.
