I've just installed Safari browser for Windows, but can't figure out how to open a HTML file (located on my computer). On my desktop I have a HTML file. So, I right click on it and select Open With... (Safari). But for some reason Safari does not do it. By default it uses http:// ... Anyone know how to do it? Thanks.

From Safari Choose Edit menu and Click on Preferences. In the General Tab choose Safari as Default Web Browser.

Although it is a very fast browser, I don't recommend to use Safari as you default html files. It crashes constantly and many windows shortcuts don't work on Safari. I hope the next release will be much better.

Start with wha it does as a default, if it opens internet explorer or your html editor program and that'll give you a heads up as to what the file really is. Most html files are just shorcuts to websites but some may be files that are a webpage design or info and if the connected files are not there then you really have nothing. For instance if you open a word document and select to save it as a webpage, it will give the document an htm or html extension, but it will still generally open in word (or whatever program you used to create it).....however if you select to save the document as a a complete webpage then not only does it save the main document as an htm or html file but also creates a folder that has all the reference info for the "page" you just created, and without that folder, nothing shows up. If its a shortcut then you may have to change the default file behaviour or at least set safari as your default browser......possibly check the properties of the html file and see if it refers to a webpage then copy that url and paste it into the safari browsers adress bar and resave it from within safari.

Mac OS isn't Windows. You probably ought to use iMovie instead of Windows Movie Maker -- I don't think WMM has a Mac version out. Photoshop is the best program in the world. You have Photoshop? Learn to use it. Don't bother looking for another paint program. If you want to paint, you can do it in Photoshop. If you don't know how to use Photoshop, your best option is to learn it as soon as possible. It's the gold standard of image editing programs, and the foundation of Adobe Creative Suite. Learn it. Master it. Thank me later. If you're talking about MS Paint, please realize that the difference between the two is incredible. Let's say MS Paint was a hamburger languishing under a heat lamp. Photoshop would be eighteen ounces of Kobe steak cooked by a five-star chef and seasoned to perfection, presented on an ornate silver platter carried by a Sports Illustrated cover model with a PhD. Get the idea? Your pictures are probably in whatever directory downloads are going to by default. Either that, or in the 'Library'. Open a Finder window, and type the name of a photo you downloaded, or a music file, whatever you're looking for -- type the name of it into the search box in the upper right corner of the Finder window. See if it comes up. Or just use iTunes, it should find your music for you. Macs are pretty good. I use a PC most of the time. Wouldn't really say one's better than the other; they both do the job. Whichever one you start with, learning the other takes a bit of time. Knowing how to use both is a good skill to have.

Not sure about Safari but I guess it could be done like this:
Open the browser then
File>>Open>>(navigate to your file)
