God must've created Satan. God must've known Satan would turn out evil. So why did God create evil?

Good question. Unfortunately few answers provide an answer that would match the wisdom and nature of a universal god- rather than a superstitious belief.

Let us look at what Jesus wrote in the gnostic gospels:

+++Jesus the gnostic+++

Jesus and the disciples were the true founders of the gnostics and nazarenes.

See:
http://one-faith-of-god.org/new_testament/apocrypha/nazarenes/nazarenes_0010.htm

In essence Jesus taught through the gnostic texts:

+ The god of the Old testament, the "jealous god", the "vengeful god" that demanded sacrifices, that demanded blood and war was actually satan pretending to be god.

+ The true God, is the father of all things, a loving universal god who would never display willing hatred towards any of his creations.

+ The Sadducee High Priests, the religious leaders hide behind white robes and words of holiness, but in fact were evil satanists who practiced black magic and human sacrifice.

+ The way to salvation is through self knowledge and the respect of all knowledge, not the promotion of ritual and ignorance of the double speaking satanists.

+ The arch-demons of the ancient past were themselves once flesh and blood beings (based on the Sumerian traditions).

+++The ancient east explanation of evil+++

+ If you have a look at the Epic of Atrahasis, you will see that the oldest beliefs saw humans created not by god(s) by flesh and blood beings who created us a slaves.
http://one-faith-of-god.org/old_testament/sources/atrahasis/atrahasis_0010.htm

+That these beings themselves were evil and banished to earth.

+++When will it end?+++

+ If you look at the Treaty of Lucifer (Satan) under the constitution of united heaven, then the war is over.
See:
http://one-heaven.org/constitution/heaven_0470.htm

+ So maybe the reason for all the death and destruction over the thousands of years is so one day we might realize our own self worth, our own destiny and capacity to forgive.

The concept of good and evil has existed because in matter, there is duality. Good, bad, right wrong etc. Its my understanding that anything that is of God is whole. Its neither good our bad, but all Holy or One. Its above duality.
We here on earth need to communicate so our words as limited to our understandings, so the Concept of God that we all share is also limited to our understandings.
We can only speak about God through a "likeness", rather than the real deal:)

In Genesis, BEFORE man was created, God looked at all He created and said it was Good.
Satan enters the picture thru the idea of wanting to be like God. The temptation. Here's the twist, When presented the idea to Eve(matter) that she could become like God, she took the bait. She and Adam were already part of God, it was through her lack of awareness of that, that she and Adam were cast into doubt. Much of this is metaphor . However whats so amazing is, that science today is finding likenesses with the simple understandings written in Bible .
Satan is the results of the negatives formed in thought, emotion and physical matter as it devolves into itself. Matter again is duality. So Satan's expression is all the negative feelings that are attached to matter. such as Greed, hate, all exists becuase of an attachment to the physical in some way.
God houses all the opposite feelings. When we align ourselves with the Good, we seek to free ourselves from our negatives, with the attributes of God or the Holy Good. When we don't, we feed the worst in us, called Satan .

What is so difficult? We have all met people who thought too much of themselves. They were not concerned with the "little people". The angel called Satan is much the same. Being a spirit creature, he was a higher form of life than humans; as humans are higher than squirrels.

Instead of going along with the divine arrangement, he thought why should God have all perks. Wasn't he also above man? Why should he not be worshipped as well? He deluded himself by thinking man only worhipped God for what man could get out of the deal, not out of love and respect.

Satan never contested God's power. He was a fool but not that big of a fool. Instead he contested God's right to rule His Creations.

If you understand the concept of free will, then you may also understand that when an individual of his own choice decides to do the right thing, the loving thing --- this is the most desirable thing in God's eyes.

Still, having given life to free will through the life of billions of creatures, God knew that the probability was certain that some would choose to not do the right thing. But who would make this choice was beyond God's ken until it manifested in action.

Thus God had no prior knowledge to Satan's private decision to do evil -- that is, until the deed was done.

That this is true, we can see from the following scripture:
2 Chronicles 32:31God left him, to try him, that he might know all [that was] in his heart. (Webster)

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

Satan is an invention of human creativity. Like the Grim Reaper represents death, Satan represents evil. He is a way humans have coped with the dark side that exists in life - by blaming it all on an entity that we can direct our anger & hatred toward. Much easier to do that, than just accept that bad things happen just because that's the way it is. It's easier to make sense of it all if you can blame something/someone for it.

actually, anybody that opposed jesus was called satan - the non believer. yet mankind has taken this to mean that he is the beast of the underworld and the fallen one from god. lucifer, another name, really means bearer or bringer of light. i think he comes from the story of prometheus, the one who gave light and fire to the humans.

and yet there is supposed to be a fallen angel, but i think satan is not fallen and is here because he was told by god to rule in hell and take all the evil with him - this is or was satans job given to him by god - to seek out flaws in gods creation.

and on another hand i am thinking that god is both good and evil - read the bible and u will see the both sides of god, wrath and love etc.

ps, im an atheist

That's what I'm also wondering about, but I think that the reason why God created evil is that he needs to see if we deserve to be with HIM in heaven. But I think that you should ask a priest because we're not experts.

Without resisiting the temptation of evil, how would go know if you really love him?

Oh - wait - God knows everything, so that answer is wrong.

Then it would have to be just for amusement, I would guess.

And thank you for writing "must've" instead of "must of." Pet peave of mine.
