There is only one group of people ever known to be called the "divine holy ones", the cuilleain across all cultures.

They are the first priest kings of Ireland. While their culture was destroyed, they are mentioned throughout the Rig Veda prayers- prayers that ultimately come from them.

They built great monuments, but above all, they freed the mind of neolithic man.

So powerful and important is this bloodline to the history of religion that we find it is the same ancestral stream for the Kings of Ebla, for the Hyksos and of course for the surviving bloodline of the House of Judah through Princess Tamar, daughter of King Zedekiah.

And guess who came from the bloodline of Messiah Kings of Israel from this surviving bloodline?

Hinduism is the oldest documented religion that is still in practice today. The keywords are "documented" and "still in practice today". Although there may have been other older religions, often times they were practiced in oral societies or they do not have an unbroken history of practice. Also, Hinduism does not have a central leader and contains many different beliefs and practices.

If you are referring to a religion from God, then the oldest one is what profit Noah has preached, before the flood took place. After which, Abraham, the father of all the profits preached for the " general" religion, until books were revealed bringing the three main religions which we all know.

Most religions claim to be the oldest, but of course they site their own holy book as a reference to this instead of historical data. In all honesty, Shamanism is probably the oldest form of religion.

Blessed Be )O(

Edit: Of course I have never understood the importance of being the "oldest" or the "biggest" or the "fastest growing" religion, as far as I am concerned the only religion that I want to follow is the one that is right for me because I choose it.

Formal religion with books and leaders, etc? Or spiritual practice? Pagan spiritualism in many forms around the globe would have to be the oldest ... but its not really a religion.

Animism is the world's oldest religion. The belief in the spirits of all things around you. This is not a belief in a deity, but of a living tapestry of souls. Ancestor worship (like in Shinto) stems from this belief system.

Hinduism is the oldest religion.

Atheism is the oldest belief group. The first person to come up with the idea of gods had to tell someone. There had to be at least one guy in the tribe who said, "na-uh!" The disbelief lasted longer than the original idea.

depends what you mean ... oldest human record... or oldest from the beginning

technically the original would have God's acount of creation in it.

Moses spoke face ot face as it were with God for 40 years and was editor in cheif of the five books of the law, authenticated Job and wrote many psalms... MOses would therefore have basis from God himself

there might be manuscripts of human ideas from before 1400-1600 BC or so give or take when moses was AROUND... but there would tend to be mostly just be ideas heavily influenced by the imagingation of man and not authenticated by miricles such as surrounded the exodus
