You do not really need to make a major decision until well into or after your Sophomore year of college. By then you will have been exposed to many of the science and math basics leading into the various fields. Up until then your prerequisite-engineering courses will be very much the same as well as the core curriculum courses of the university.
Many Engineering students change their specific field once they have some experience. You may to add to this experience in the Summers, even in high school by finding jobs in any technical field - even in construction or manufacturing. Then ask a lot of questions.

If you like to work with your hands and "tinker", I'd suggest mechanical engineering. ME has been a traditional hands-on type of engineering. That may be changing these days, I dunno... I'm not an ME.

I'm a chemical engineer. And while there was hands-on stuff during school, now that I'm out using this degree I find that I sit in an office a lot. Now, this is just my experience and not necessarily that of the whole industry, but I miss being able to do things. Sadly, we're a union shop so I'm not even allowed to pick up a screwdriver to reattach the handle on my desk much less anything hands on. :(
