In Spanish the embarazado means pregnant and the Portuguese embaraçar means to obstruct. How are these related?

Embarazado also means obstructed in Spanish.

I don't know the particulars but the word 'a s s' is in it so I would say that should sum it up.

embarrasser" is "to embarrass" in french which has latin roots "imbarrare" which means to barricade or block, which used in a less literal way is "to impede or hinder one's comfort."
