its much deeper than just a violin, it is the difference between simple knowledge and wisdom, anyone can be taught the mechanics of playing a violin, but turning the mechanics into a beautiful song takes wisdom, you can use this in any field, lets say a dam operator, first you learn how to read the gauges and open the vents (knowledge) but you have to know when to open the vents to keep the dam from bursting and know when to close it before you flood the valley and kill the farmers (wisdom)

I think what is being said is that anyone can learn to play the notes on a violin if so inclined and by applying the correct discipline. Music is an expression of feeling, so wisdom is required for one to create or recreate that feeling.

hey budy...i dont know about violin...but im sure without knowin how to play it you wont b able to do much in that....n if u sayin about music...aah ! music is the song of the soul...it just needs a hearty mind .....music is the expression of your inner most feelings....wisdom combines both knowledge n power to do right things with wise n saggacious mind....if u pour ur heart brain n mind in anything the soul itself will create heavenly music dat gives u extacy....dats d music !!!

it means that certain people need talent to play an instrument, but you need a special gift to read and understand the music. :)
