I am an Evangelical but currently do not attend any local church regularly. What is better: Baptist, etc?

Read the statement of faith before joining ANY church. Make sure it is biblically sound. From there, see if it is a church that you can and will serve in!

Do not compromise Gods word just to say you're in church!

I don't think anyone can say one is better than another in general, I attend a Baptist Church that I love but I have friends in the Methodist church, Episcopalian church and even the Pentecostal Holiness church.

Find a Church that has a worship style you like and a Pastor that believes in the entire Word of God and is fearless in his preaching.

I like some others like the Purpose Driven style of church because it goes back to the way the early church was set up. They normally have small groups for Sunday school style classes on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights and a Sunday morning worship service that gets Gods Word across in a way that people enjoy and learn from it. They don't change the message just the presentation.

I would visit several churches and be in prayer about where God wants you to be.

It goes against the grain to say so, but Rick Warren's Purpose Driven Churches seem to be the coming thing.

It would be the Catholic Church which has the promise that it is the "bulwark and ground of the truth". The Catholic Church is where the fullness of faith, practice and worship is found. Remember Christ promised to the Church He founded tht He would be with His Church until the end of the age and He is present in a real corporeal sense in every Catholic worship. Join us and come home to the Jesus' own.

In Christ

One that preaches the Word of God, and not opinions, traditions, or customs.

Yikes, find yourself a good universalist church.
