my uncle jimmy found out that my cousin sophie (18) lost her virginity recently and he went nuts. i mean i know hes concerned because shes his only daughter, but its not like shes a baby.! My mum had a word with him and said that itl be alright and that shes not like some girls who are lossing it at 13-14. I just dont see why he is so angry! all dads are different i know, but i think hes just being a bit over the top. Sophie was upset because he makes her feel ashamed about what she had done and he only found out because of her email message from sophies friend! Is this wrong, what do you think?

Fathers out there please put your views too.

You do not seem to consider it something wrong. So, there is a mission for you. Lose your virginity too, without any further loss of time(One can be sure you would not have waited for such an advice). You let all your friends and relations to lose their virginity as early as possible. When your daughter attains puberty, make to see that she too loses it even before she knew that she had it. Then, this world will be a happier place to live in

No parent wants to know that their child especially their baby girl is no longer a virgin, i was married and it was hard for my parents to see me pregnant at first and they assumed my husband was the first and i didnt do it when we were engaged. 18 is a normal age i guess but theres so much that comes with loosing your virginity emotionally etc and no dad wants to picture there daughter that way, he isnt overacting hes right on point

At 18, he had no right to be getting into her email. She needs to explain to her dad that she loves and respects him, but she is grown now and needs to be able to make her own life decisions.

Don't worry, he will get over it. If she waited for the right guy, then she has nothing to be ashamed of.

Sophie is an adult. It is her body and what she does with it, is no ones business but her own.
Consensual sex is not wrong.
Being safe and using precautions should be the primary focus.
NOT, the mid evil/warped/religious/unrealistic expectations.

you will need to be the parent before you realize the hurt
she has put him through

I thought I would die when I had to go rescue my son from shoplifting at the store chain I worked at in college
