I fed my Kitty at 8am today before I went to work and I usually feed him again at 1pm when I go home for lunch. I have to leave work in 10mins as I have an emergency and wont be back home till 4. Will my kitty be ok till them? He is only 6 months old. Thanks

Don't worry cats will be fine without food for about a week! Our Cat ran away for 6 weeks. We think because she got hit by a car and thought she would die so she hid under a bush (what cats do) and she was hurt for about a week and couldn't eat. When she came back she was an excellent hunter tho. Your cat will be fine if you forget to feed her the hole day (i do not advise you to do this tho).

Yes your kitty will survive. It is eating solid food not milk right? My suggestion to you: put down a bowl of food and fill it up. Kittens tend to eat all day long little bits here and there. Then just watch for the bowl to get empty to refill it. My kitty is 7 weeks old and she eats all day long. But she will not be mad at you if you don't feed it on a schedule. Cats are lazy, and like to sleep alot, so for you to put it on a schedule and expect it to eat only twice a day, is hard on the kitty. Good Luck. Wendi

The kitty will be fine. Perhaps a little hungry, but he can wait. It's good that you feed it 3 times a day, but you could even feed it twice a day (morning and evening), you'd have to leave more food in the morning but now just for today there's no problem.

I agree with everyone else - he'll be fine. I've two cats + they tend to get fed once in the morning (dry food) and once in the evening (wet food) - but sometimes they get both meals + the same time + have to "pace" themselves - they're usually STARVING when I get back - but perfectly fine :)
One thing that may be worth getting is a feeding ball - this is exactly how it sounds - a hollow ball with an opening (or sometimes more) that you put the dry food into (wet would just be silly :)) the cat then has to roll the ball to get the food out. I use this most days with my two (Wallace and Gromit!) and they enjoy it. It also helps slow their intake of food and keep them occupied for a bit.

Don't worry he will be fine. Why don't you try leaving him dry cat food out during the day for times like this. That is what I used to do with my kitty. Unless he is the type to eat until he pops. Most cats will eat as much as they need at the time they are hungry.

Hi,

I've had cats all my life and they're not like dogs who will eat and eat and eat. A cat will only eat when they're hungry and stop when they're full. I have 3 cats at the mo and feed them whenever they ask for food. Usually in the morning and at tea time. If you put food out and he/she leaves some just leave it and he/she will finish it off later. I always have food available so they can eat anytime.

I also recommend leaving a bowl of quality dry food like Iams in a bowl (make sure it's always topped up) and you won't have to worry.

A bowl of milk and another of water and i'm sure your kitten won't even notice you've gone. Unless they want out that is.

Yes, your kitty will be just fine. Leave kitty a bit of dry food to snack on and some water and all will be well.

He will be fine but for future situations beyond your control, you should think about the possibility of leaving a key with a trusted friend or neighbour who can see to kitty incase you get delayed for even longer again.

He will be fine. It won't hurt him to wait a little longer for you to come home.
If you want to, leave a dish of dry down for him when you are away. Then if you aren't able to get there during the day, he will have something to eat. Just make sure that he has clean water and access to his litter pan. Cats are fine by themselves. Most times they sleep during the day anyway, as they are nocturnal.

6 months old?? aww! bet hes adorable! well my opinion is if you have a small enough room with out alot of places he can get stuck under eg. a couch bed ect. and buy a litter tray and try to train him! then leave water and food for him his bed and if he has a toy you know make him feel he has his own room.
close the door maybe open a window slightly if its too warm or heating if its too cold and im sure hell b fine....
