Your thoughts while sounding like paradise, are poison, and dangerous. They were the very root thoughts, and promises of Karl Marx, when he envisioned his Utopia. Thus the Soviet Union, the old communist China following this model seized church property, and possessions and created their so-called earthly paradise, without God. Wasn't a big success was it? At the hands of these athesist governments millions died!

I like your utopian vision my friend. Alas if religion were gone tomorrow the sheep would be lost without guidance. Remember, religion may be the primary contributor for many of society's ills - lulling the flock into thinking they are becoming closer to the divine, when in fact they are getting farther and farther away from their fellow man - but it is in no way the only culprit. The naive and gullible would still flock to other supernatural and paranormal escapes: astrology, psychics, ghosts, aliens, crop circles, ESP, NDE, reincarnation and a host of other fantasies. Anything to escape this reality. Young people do drugs. Believers suspend disbelief.
Your suggestions presuppose that man loves his fellow man enough to deter his willing escape to magic. "We have just enough religion to make us hate, but not enough to make us love one another." (Jonathan Swift).
I wish one day we come to the place you describe above. But as long as people are miserable, unhappy, poor, confused, scared, lonely, grieving over the death of loved ones, and fearful of reason, they will choose to invest their energies not in loving their fellow man, but in the world of fantasy and escape.
John Lennon shared a similar vision to yours....
Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world
You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Good idea...George Romero could film this as a zombie flick..I'd love to see it..zombies as sentient beings for a change..instead of "send more brains"..they could use parts of their own that have not been used before...Great idea..Wouldn't it be nice?...Even,just for a week..A Dream...A Wonderful Dream!

Such a refreshing view. I could cry thinking how beautiful a world it would be.
Of course if that actually happened, it would prove to me there really is a God after all! :)

Utopia.
It would be nice if they at least paid taxes. That would be a good start.
