I have Severe Canal Stenosis, Also a Herniated disk in the back of my neck. Dr’s want to do surgery replacing some washer type thingys and put in a metal plate in. It will not cure the Stenosis. They said the only thing it will do is, it might help in case I fall or get hit by a car from the rear to keep me from going paralyzed from neck down or dying. I was supposed to have surgery on June 8th but I cancelled.
I am a Christian and I believe God will heal me. He did, He can, and I believe He will! However everyone I talk to says I should have the surgery that God uses Dr.s too. When I read the Bible… I read in James to not waver in my faith. James 1:6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. NOTHING WAVERING!!!I ...

I also have a bulging disc in my lower back and Stenosis and in my middle back Stenosis. Two Dr. already say nothing can be done about the Stenosis. And the canal is flattening. Do you think it is wrong that I do not have the surgery? Even if I wanted to I have no way to get to Louisville and I don’t have the money, not even my church will help me. They said God will provide and God will heal. I applied for disability but until I get that I have no income. My internet is going to get cut off soon unless some money comes in from somewhere. I truly can not work; I barely can get to the bathroom. I do have a potty chair near by. Taking a shower every day is about all I can handle. My friend here, she works all the time trying to pay my bills and hers. I want God to heal me but my friends won’t help because they think I don’t want help because I won’t have the surgery. I told them it won’t matter. God is greater than this disease.

I guess that would be another question as how I got the Stenosis to start with. Nobody related to me has it. What would you do as a God believing Christian knowing God heals? And Why won’t my church help me. All Christian are the church. I can’t get any help. What should I do, I have prayed and prayed.

Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
I believe that by the stripes Jesus took on His back on the way to Calvary, that we are already healed. What we wait on is the manifestation in our flesh.
I also do believe that God will work through Dr's when it is His will. If I were you I would stand in faith knowing that God was going to Heal me, unless God Himself told me other wise. The only way that I would have this surgery is if God Himself told me to have it, however there is nothing impossible with God. So Chhaya I stand in faith with you That the Lord Jesus is going to heal you.
2Chronicles 16:12 And Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to the LORD, but to the physicians.
13 And Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the one and fortieth year of his reign.
Two years later.
These scriptures show that you show always go to God first
in any situation. I believe has Asa sought the Lord first He would have been healed.
The Dr.s have already told you tere is no cure for the Stenosis. I know in Luke 18:27 And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.
So I ask you and everyone here. Are the Dr's Greater than God? In my book they are not greater than the God I serve.
Now for something as stiches, broken leg, help delivering a baby, Yes I would go to a DR.
Love and Prayers,
Angel

Stenosis, which means narrowing, can be caused by a few things. Like an injury or arthritis. I think if you have faith in God this would make you do things that could possibly save your life. Doing nothing for something that can be preventable is almost like suicide. The Bible and Quran have given us many remedies for aliments. The bible even says about Honey and using it for infection etc. The bible can seem confusing. If you had a baby would you go away from everyone and have it alone with out making noise? Or would you take help from Medical professionals?

I don't know what country you live. But if you live in the USA you should be able to apply for Social Security Disability, and some other state aids depending on the state. Also, some Catholic Churches will pay your electricity or things like this. Heap, which is a program that helps people with low incomes pay there electric in the winter. I am a social worker and I know that there is some help out there. It will take a little effort just to find it. I don't think God will forgive anyone if they don't try. Best wishes.

Chhaya05, your answer to what you should do lies in your profile about yourself:

God, grant me the SERENITY,
to ACCEPT the things I cannot change,
the COURAGE to change the things I can,
and the WISDOM to know the difference.
Jesus IS LORD!

You said the stenosis can not be changed, but that herniated disc can be fixed and be changed for the better.

My father had bypass-surgery, we are still paying the bill, but we talked with the hospital social worker and got help with the cost of the operation and the payment installment. Also my dad's cardiologist, he did the surgery and he said he would for go his wage for the procedure, so that all we were really paying for was the hospital expenses, (ie Operating room, equipment etc).

If you don't have money, medicaid should help you, even if they only partially cover for your procedure, any cost reduction is good.

I know you have the wisdom to decide and the courage to do what is most needed right now. God will not forsake you or any of us. He is infinite in his love and forgiveness. There are angels out there, maybe one of them was sent by God, in the gise of a physician to heal you, don't shun that angel away?

As for your church. Does not the Lord work throught us? And at the end of the Lord's pray do we not say "Let it be done on earth as it is in Heaven? " Your church should put up a collection or charity fund to help raise and cover the cost of the operation. Like a good shepard that protects his sheeps, so should churches protect it members. Not doing so is a disservice to Jesus, and hypocritical in the eyes of God.

God bless you Chhaya05, and I shall pray for you.

ohhh, sweetie, i am so so sorry. God DOES work through others, including doctors. He gives them the knowledge and the skill to do what they do. If I were you, I would have the surgery to prevent any permanent damage in the future, even though the stenosis will not be cured. At least you can prevent something else from happening. The doctors obviously feel that this surgery can help you in some way and if God didn't show them your problem, you wouldn't have known about it. I know you must be scared. But you have to trust in yourself and have faith in God. If you can not afford the surgery, then I guess you really have no choice, right? There has to be something out there that can help you. Have you tried United Way? Churches are there to be supportive mentally and physically and spiritually. I do not believe your condition to be life threatening, which is why they may be reluctant to help you financially.

First of all I am sorry about your situation. I believe that God does use Dr'sin his work or meds would not be where they are today. Also think about what god says, He helps those who help themselves. God has given you an option with surgery. I urge you to get the surgery, if you don't where will you be in one year. I also have concerns with your church. I assume that you tidth every week? A good christian based church will not let a member lay around in horrible pain and let you lose everything. I am a good southern baptist girl and we are always helping our fellow members, you deserve to live a life free of as much pain as possible. I will pray for you and hope that you decide to go ahead with surgery!! Good Luck

That church of yours is the equivalent of a QUACK in the medical profession. Get second and third opinions from specialists, and then go with their best advice. If God wants to heal you before the surgery, then He can do just that. Keep on praying, and if you still get up on the operating table with the condition, just accept that that's the way God wanted you to handle it.

You're going to seriously regret your decision. If there is a God, he created doctors for a reason... He created them to help people with illnesses like yours... Why would God help those who would not help themselves? God IS giving you help right now! (and that would be the surgery...) I have a feeling that religious people like you misinterpret the Bible because it's simply nonsensical to just wait for God to heal you. You are basically disabled right now. You can't do much good for others. Wouldn't God want you to get the surgery so that your life can actually be productive? Wouldn't he want you to be able to do good works or things of that nature? No offense, but your reasoning and faith makes no sense whatsoever...

Sorry if I seemed harsh. Of course, I hope that you would eventually get better.

Listen honey, you are a child of God. Don't think of him as this overbearing being that will allow you to fall if you get something wrong. he is your father...your father...if you have a child you would do anything for them right? Well God see's you the same way..............okay.

having the surgery is not a lack of faith. God always uses situations to show you that he truly loves you. I have had a few surgeries, and the wonderful out come was Gods blessing to me. I had faith...I had the faith that he would bring me out of the surgeries safely. Sometimes satan can put ideas in your head that will make you doubt God. If you don't have the surgeries, and you don't get better you might doubt your faith. Satan is the author of confusion. Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work togethr for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to his purpose.

The bible says that what ever we bind on earth shall be bound in heaven and what every we loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

So I bind your confusion, you pain, your sickness, and your fear, and satans influence away from you,In the name of Jesus. And Peace, healing, prosperity, and blessings will be loosed to you in the name of the almighty Jesus.

Yes stand bold on your faith....the faith that Your father is going to work things out for your good

i WILL continue to pray for you. Make me a friend so that we can keep intouch. Remember WHEN you come out of this...it is your testimony....So tell everyone so that you may minister to someone else. I truly love you!

Pray for wisdom, which God freely grants all of the faithful.

Get rid of the sin in your life.

If you're Catholic, get anointed. If you're not, get a group of people to pray for you.

Locate the best doctor you can, get his opionion, and then do the same thing all over again, with another doctor.

Once you have that second opinion, decide which doctor you will use, and begin praying for God to guide him in all that he does for you.

Then have the medical procedure you need, continue to pray, and believe that God will in fact, grant all of your petitions and prayers.

Suffering is often a gift from God.

God bless you.

good question, and difficult question at the same time.

"GOD HEALS......... " OUR GOD IS THE HEALER"
there is no doubt abou it.

But how do we approach God is the reall matter. Most of the time disease or some struggle comes to human beings as a result of sin, or to prove God that He is the Healer. or to correct him/her from some mistakes (Chastisement).

In this too busy world sorrounded with modern behaviours of people one who is affected is just confused or just neglect the fact of the above but as a tredition they seek God, ask God, pray to God, etc., for sure there will be no result.

Just check which area of your life you are not right with your Creator. Set right with Him. Please His heart. talk to God, spend time instead of wasting time in asking question with others.
Keep talking,,,,, and keep reading the Bible....... you will find the solution where you have to correct your self. or where you need allow God to act on.. etc. for sure you will get healed as our God is "Jehovah Rafah" the healer.

at the same time dont neglect the treatment from doctor.(many people live with diformities, permenent damages, sicknesses, and even die, because of their church's wrong teaching "not to approach doctor")

But please approach Doctor and follow his treatment or operation. If God really will help you to be healed then He will do it even when your treatment is on or not. but it will be a permenent healing.

God bless you.
