Contrary to popular belief, first times are often awkward, daunting, or painful. Sex DOES get better though as experience, love, and sensuality get added to the mix.

Some people are very fortunate to have great first times.

For most of us, it was just as awkward.

I'd say your experience was pretty normal. ;)

Whoever told you that the first time is fantastic is probably still a virgin.

For a woman, it hurts. There's nothing wonderful or romantic about that, sorry. :( I've heard that's it can be great for guys, unless they're extremely nervous.

If you're with someone you love (and I hope you are!) it will get better. You need to communicate about what feels good and what doesn't. It can only get better from here!

Make sure you get some birth control in place... You don't want to end up like one of the numerous ignorant dingbats who come onto YA to ask if they're pregnant or have an STD. I'm sure you're more intelligent than that. :)

No your not weird whom ever told u that ur first time would be brilliant was lying, the first time is always bad so bad u never forget it, that why they say u never forget you first its not because it was great. There are a few reason for him not keeping a erection 1 it was his first time too, 2 he has a problem in that area, 3 you turned him on , oh my god just to read ur question made me think of my first time ewww. Trust me it gets much better you will learn to love it. Dont blame your self and if anyone tells you that they enjoyed their first time they are lying.

I thought the same thing my first time. He was nervous and he'll get more confident and you CAN help that. Dont just lay there..let him no its okay and be comforting. You want him to be considerate of you, you do the same for him. Once he performs normally and you relax and you both are helping each other the rewards are tremendous. Trust me..its better then your thinking right now. Give it time.

I suppose you did not prepare yourself fully for the action. Maybe you just hurriedly jumped and rushed yourself into having sex. I am sure the second time you will enjoy it if you plan and prepare. I will suggest that you seek the services of a counsellor or a matured trustworthy person and tell him your problem.

The first time is not always great. It could have been the guy you were with too. Don't worry, it gets better. Just be sure to use protection!! You don't want HIV or some other STD, or to get pregnant right now.

My first time was not a shining ray of sunshine, either. He was just nervous (any man who has ever been a first knows how many things can go wrong). It gets better. You just have to give it time.

Certain things you did not like initially, you will start liking gradually. That is the philosophy of life. Supposing you don't like it at all, you are rid of so many problems which others constantly face

Yeah... for the 1st time... I would say you're about even with the rest of us. Though I have to say: I know one person that got fireworks the first time out. *shakes fist*
