Safari is a Mac Only browser. I don't see what use you will have of that in Windows. Also, I don't think Apple distributes this browser for non apple OSes. You can however have a look at http://try.swift.ws/

Safari on Windows: Steve Jobs said Safari is coming to Windows. This is an interesting development and if Safari even comes close to the success of iTunes on Windows the browser race will be interesting again. Jobs claims that Safari is faster than both IE and Firefox. Biggest plus: The ability to drag tabs to their own window.

This latest version is compatible for both pc and mac.
I believe it would be fairly easy to remove should you feel the need to.
However, I just tried it and have to say it is terrible: Fuzzy text, too much contrast on images, bad layout on sites, and it is slow despite the claim! Perhaps it is a good idea to wait untill it comes out of Beta to use it full time. Also, it is incompatible with Yahoo! Mail current version. It will take you to original version.

A Beta version is available for Windows xp now. Don't know about the technicalities

Yes you can download and use it with XP. But reviews have found it to be slower that Firefox, and quite a few bugs. Firefox is still the best around.
