Leviticus 20:9
If anyone curses his father or mother, he must be put to death.
20:10 If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife—with the wife of his neighbor—both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death.
Exodus 35:2
For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death.
Exodus 21:20-21 If a man beats his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies as a direct result, he must be punished, but he is not to be punished if the slave gets up after a day or two, since the slave is his property. (slavery is ok? :/ even our own government admitted this to be wrong)
Deuteronomy 14:6-7
You may eat any animal that has a split hoof divided in two and that chews the cud. However, of those that chew the cud or that have a split hoof completely divided you may not eat the camel, the rabbit, or the coney.
Interesting? yes.

The earth moves. It does not have a foundation.
Psalms 104:5
He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved.
Also
Even if it is old testament you have to follow it because it is part of the whole christian bible
notice that you had to create some sort of crazy explanation on "God's" behalf :/

And there are more versus like these even in the New Testament, look them up.

What a scary ancient belief system. It's hard to believe that some people used to follow it. It's even harder to imagine that Biblical fundamentalists insist that the Old Testament is divine (in the 21st century in a democratic nation, no less. I wonder what they would feel like if they lived in those sad times?).

Does not apply to Christians. These statutes were written by Moses for the Israelites - Jews of their day ! It is called the Torah - from the Old Covenant or Physical Testament. Christians fall under a New Covenant or Spiritual Testament, which includes ALL people of God's Choosing.

All of these OLD TESTAMENT LAWS are still of value to a degree. if anyone curses their parents, they will not be put to death right away, but upon the day of judgment, they will be held accountable for breaking Gods commandment.
But also anyone who does this will experience a form of cursing upon their own lives.. think about this... How many ppl do you know live an troubled life and always have bad luck also happen to curse their parents? MANY,, its a result of their attitude that they reap what they sow..
We must respect them, even if they are corrupt.
If we fail to rest ourselves from work,, we open ourselves up to problems,, ppl that work 24/7 all the time,, are going to receive some form of negative impact on their health.
Under the new law of the new testament Slavery is wrong, although now we are called "employees" inssted of slaves.
So we are still to honor and respect our superiors/ boss etc.
With regard to Deut 14:6-7. As of new testament grace these foods are now declared clean, and we can eat them,, although that does not necessarily mean they are healthy,, God has now given us permission to eat these foods and not feel ashamed...
Acts 11:4-8
4Peter began and explained everything to them precisely as it had happened: 5"I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision. I saw something like a large sheet being let down from heaven by its four corners, and it came down to where I was. 6I looked into it and saw four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, reptiles, and birds of the air. 7Then I heard a voice telling me, 'Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.'
8"I replied, 'Surely not, Lord! Nothing impure or unclean has ever entered my mouth.'
9"The voice spoke from heaven a second time, 'Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.' 10This happened three times, and then it was all pulled up to heaven again.
But the truth is, as humans we have all broken Gods holy laws and we are all totally Stuffed!,,, unless we receive a worthy savior... Jesus, only he can justify us in Gods sight.
Good questions though, hope this helps
Peace to you

Yes. Christianity is the New Covenant, and is based on the New Testament. You're reading from the Old Testament, which was used for dictating laws to the people of Palestine before God sent Jesus to fulfill the law

Jesus Christ fulfilled the Old Testament with the New Testament. That's what we go by.

yup the laws are definitely harsh.
but Jews at that time grew up knowing these laws. they grw up MEMORISING these laws. they know how breaking these laws will jeopardise the whole community. so if they still choose to disobey these Laws, they will have to face the harsh punishments.
