Religion cannot cure diseases or curb starvation. Starvation is man made.

First of all there are no billions of Gods, as per Hinduism.
The different forms of God which one comes across in Hinduism, are of one Brahman only.
As it is a very highly democratised religion, it allows the followers to worship God in any manner he/she desires, such as a mother, father or a child.

" Ekam Satyam Vipra Bhahutha Vadanthi".
Truth ( God ) is one, but sages call it by various names.
This is the basic fact and principle of Hinduism.

Coming to the second part of your question, diseases and starvations etc are on account of man's actions alone.
This is called Karma in simple terms. The Cause and Effect of all the actions and even Thoughts of every man on earth, comes back to him in the form of Karma, birth after birth.
Every person born in this world is experiencing the results of his past Karma only. So one has to work his way up to realise God, with all the effects of Karma playing the obstructionist.
One cannot expect God to eradicate all the accumulated bad karmas of an individual, in a jiffy. It has to be worked out.
At the same time several persons in the past have saved themselves from the horrors of sickness and poverty purely by their devotion and prayers alone.
I know of a famous singer who lost his voice after a sickness, could not find a cure in spite of consulting many leading doctors. Then he visited the Guruvayur Temple continuously for many days, cried and prayed with faith in front of the deity and at last got his voice back.
As an example of Karma, let me ask you as to who is responsible for the Global Warming, which poses grave danger to the world today. Is it on account of our past activities or on account of God.
Always think Good.
Always do Good.
Always say Good things.
The whole world is a single family. ( Vasudeva Kutumbam ).
All the living beings are inter connected and inter related.
The good or bad actions from one will certainly affect the others eventually.
Every living being in the universe is an embodiment of the Divine Soul. None is a stranger or an alien.

Sanatana Dharma(hinduism) is a way of life rather than a religion. In other religions there is no space for open thought. You can still be a hindu even if you are an athiest. Have you ever read any of the hindu scriptures Jaswinder?

A man is simultaneouslly son as well as father and also a brother, husband. Similarly god is one called BRAHMAN. You can see God in what ever form you wish. Light, sun, tiger, cow, tree any thing. Every thing is created by god. There are not billion gods but billions of form of god.

Even you have both godly\beautiful qualities as well as devilish\ugly qualities. A man's life is influenced by Karma.

There is an element of sarcasm in your question and it irritates.

you cant really doubt god whether its in islam ,judaism, christianity or hinduism.sometimes you kinda have to work towards these two problems and seek gods help and he will do 50% of the work but since you have been sent on earth for a reason you also have to do something -atleast 20%of the work and then leave it to god.you cant expect him to suddenly send food to the hungry and cure the sick people.thats y we have doctors in this world so that they can do some of the work too.if god was to do everything then all we needed to do was sit at home and leave everything upto him.but is that how you can move on in life ? no.i am not saying that god is not capable of doing 100%of the work but if he did that then we humans wouldnt do anything.i am a muslim but my view abt every religion is the same.god -the power is one, names are different.

The concept of God helps a human being in self-regulation of his actions in life while conforming to certain norms of ethics. One has to find solutions to all his problems himself rather than expecting some supernatural power to do it for him. In fact, no such power exists which can solve the problems of each and every one, whether it is disease, starvation or anything else.

FIRSTLY HINDUISM DOES NOT HAVE BILLIONS OF GODS IT IS ONE OF THE FEW WHICH BELEIVES IN THE ONE GOD ONE BRAHMAN CONCEPT,SO GET YOUR MIND CLEAR.

Starvation, disease and death are all parts of creation, how can you expect birth without death. It is all one's karma that gives him his due fruit.Death and disease are two truths that can never be altered.Hinduism does not refer death as the ultimate end of the soul,it is but a process of renewal and freashining the spirit, which is trapped on the physical body.People always want to get benefits from god otherwise they dont beleive in them at all.God is not our daily wager who wud do work for us,on orders. Why dont people think that every moment the breath we are taking and the warmth we are getting from the sun are all due to His mercy.Forget the rich,no life would have ever existed without Him.And how do you know that people dont get cured by Him?do you expect people who get cured to write a letter to all of us,to proof God's mercy. For the rest it is their Karma that bear's the destiny's fruit.

IT IS THE RULE OF NATURE THAT WITHOUT DEATH AND DISEASE NEW BIRTH AND LIFE CANNOT EXIST.

AND I AGREE WITH OM,IT IS NOT THE QUESTION OF ANY ONE FAITH.AIDS,STD's AND SOME OTHER DANGEROUS DISEASES ARE ALL MAN MADE DUE TO BARBARIOUS ACTIONS OF MEN,SMOKING AND DRUGS ARE EXCLUSIVE OF THE LIST.

Hi

You seem to be someone wanting to be touched in some way by Godhead. You are not sure what you believe - but perhaps feel angry and frustrated at the state of the world? Just guessing.

In a way, you are doing what you accuse those who believe in God of doing - blaming "God" for your own and our collective inaction as a species.

Go yourself and heal! There is something that each one of us can do to address injustice and make the world a better place - but while you blame an outside force (God, government, believers) it is your own cop-out for inaction.

My impression from your questions is that you are crying out for meaning. Go and be meaningful. You may surprise yourself.

Good wishes.

All is one and One is all.

What is humanly possible must be attended first. Now and then miracle happens in life but we take them for granted as conicidence and also forget them in time.

We are limited and so our perception is also very limited. With that we judges the acts of the Unlimited Eternal. That will get us know where, God knows what best for us, Just as our mother knows whats Best for her Child or Jus as a doctor who knows whats best for the Patient. Think.

You are doing good job of defaming hinduism as if other narrow-minded religions were not sufficient !!

And those fundies above, Can you people tell me if there is no disease, starvation, death and suffering among those who follow your religion??

I think you convert to christianity perhaps your son will be brought back from death by some church...but for God's sake stop this propaganda

Be afraid of God's wrath... have you not had enough??

Diseases, starvation , sufferings etc are no tcaused bygod . they ar all caused by humans only. you know that an animal knows its limits and eats only as is necessary to satisfy its huner and leaves herest of hefood for others and does nt hoard it for tomorrow.but man does not do that .evn more than eating for his hunger todasy , he conties t save for his tomorrwo tha for th emember os of this family fopr ever and deprives the rest of hepeole of of thier food.
God has gioen yu life and the senses to guide yu through the life . it is not the business of ?god tobe at yu back all hetime and guide you like a blind person all throug your lif and through every moment .In hat case god wouldnot hav committed the folly of crating you. your very existence is meaningless and useless io you require god to e doing jobs for yu all the twentifour hurs on all days till thend of yur life .Why should man exist at all if god wer eto be doing like that ?
Go dis like the engine of a car -.the life force of every creature . the course of the running of the car is decided by the drier withe help of he accelerator , the steeringwheels ,the gears , the brake etc .The brin of hemanis the driver of his coinduct and life .his sense like the touch , the sight , the taste , the hearing , the smell etc are tjhe devices of input with the help of which he decides his action. god had endowed you with all that .if you have control over your sense and use them properly , you cancondut yur life properly without any difficultuy for yur self and others .but if our of greed you ;let yur senses take control of yur mind ,yu willbe lost .
this ios what is happening in the world today.God is no tresponsible for the situation. but man.
when the situation assumes a proprtion whre the saadhus suffer at the hands of he devilish men and noman is abl eto se right things .god will descend upon this earth as an avatar ad destroy the evils ;
Read the lines of Bahagavad -gita :
Parithraanaaya sadhu naaam,
vinaayaasa chthukkruthaaam,
Dharma sansathabanaarthaaya ,
sambhavaami yughe , yughe :
now it is Kali yuga . We ar at the 5108th year of kali yuga (vide any India almanac ). A yuga runs to 10,80000 years .
soyou have enough time for thegod to take his Avataar to put down the evil forces wnen they assume enormour proportions .you and I maight not be there to witness it;.but it woud haoppen at theappropriate time and not at the time You want or I want .Bhagavan is not at our beck and call, I hope you understand

Any religion will tell you how to live better for you and for the society.Once you understand this you know how to solve your problems or you may not have problems. As you asked if any religion cures every thing then everybody will become one and there is no other job except eating and sleeping.
