i am going to amsterdam for around 5 days, if i use a travel agent they would probably be better at hunting round for a better deal, but don't they charge a bit extra?

which one would work out cheaper?

If you don't mind putting the peices of the package together yourself then the internet is the cheapest option, but if you want to let someone do the 'packaging' together for you then use a Travel Agent, slight more expensive because of their commission and also when booked as a package you are covered by their ATOL and ABTA License which you may well not be if booking each component separately.

Internet Booking something (mostly) have a good deal price that you go show to the hotel.

I often book my holiday via internet. It's easy and so many choices. But sometime the pictures doesn't always the same as the reality - then you have to make sure the hotel that you book is chain hotel or have recommendation from other people.

Hunting around would be fun and something you can have a better deal than internet but during this periode it will quite difficult.

Try for:

Book it all yourself on the net...you'll save some cash and you will have the time to choose exactly what you want, rather than the 17 year old rep in the travel agents

I always look online 1st of all do you want to fly or take the train or bus, then if you are flying which nowadays works out just a cheap as train ect, work out where you want to travel from, say you wanted to fly from norwich go to the nowich airport web site or for you where ever you intend to travel from then find out all the airlines what flight from there to the place you want to travel to then got to there web site and then they will give you a list of times dates and costs, it do work out a lot cheaper, if you want hotel also just search for cheap hols to holland and loads will pop up but its worth while searching and just taking that little bit more time to find the cheapest one. I done a lastminute holiday from norwich to dalaman turkey, then had airport transfer to hotel we stayed in a 4star hotel in marmaris for 2weeks and that cost me and my husband £300.00 thats everything inc flights transfers hotel, food the lot for £300 not bad and thats was tho looking on the net we went with the airport agency, also teletext online is so cheap. Good luck anyway.

in my experience the biggertravel agents tend to endorse their own holiday tours and travel insurance. online is easier as you can chose from the whole range of operators. it can be time consuming and mind boggling though unless you know exactly what you want! beware of hidden costs ie late booking fee, collecting tickets from airport
